can I be a professer of campaigning for smileys? I got my own smiley campaign society and everything 
or failing that, how about a proffesor of failing to become a proffessor - or both

Hello, sorry for the interruption, but is there any chance that I could apply for a Professorship please.
I'm kind of new to H2G2 and finding things a bit confusing at the moment, and the University sounds like a good place to start meeting people.
As for a subject in which to become a professor, I'm currently doing research into the humble potato crisp - or at least the packet which I'm eating as I type this - so Professor of Crispology may be a good title.

Roman name for Cambridge = Cantabrigia I believe. Therefore someone getting a degree from Cambridge is entitled to put the letters *BA (cantab)* after their name (change BA depending on the degree of course).
How about doing that for The h2g2 University of mice in fact? Any suggestions?
