GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011

I had made a simple program to find the area of a square, and I randomly read in 6 and 7 as the lenght of the sides. So the area of the square was 42!

No! I hadn't realised that the answer would be 42. I just picked 6 and 7 randomly, at least I thought they were random. It must have been my sub-consious which knew that the answer would be 42.

if the sides were 6 and 7 units long, it wasn't actually a square, was it now? smiley - geek

I have often wondered though, whether the h2g2 software has a built-in bias for posts being "42 Minutes Ago" - like, that particular "minute" covers everything from 43.5 to 41.5 instead of 42.9 to 41.9 or whatever smiley - magic

Nope, that's didn't help at all. In fact, now the number of times that I've encountered 42 has increased!

But, GB, at least by playing the "time-wasting flash game" will stop you finding any more, even though it may have increased your tally by one...therefore I have done you a favour....I think....smiley - erm.....

Well, I have a smiley - geek dilemma now, cos for ages I've been putting my conversation through a smiley - magic Perl script so that I'm not online as I load it - so that I can leave it open and it won't keep my "eyes" showing up the whole time.

But now the number of new posts thing works - but only shows up if you're online! So I can either be online the whole time, or miss out on this feature! smiley - wah

Oh, and I made it put 3N in Brunel, too, cos it seems to break less often than Goo - it feels smiley - weird seeing 3N in Goo now...
