what? no reaction at all to my record-breaking lurking?
perhaps I'd have got a better reaction if I'd offered/threatened to fill the thread with 10000 ferrets, and ignore *them*...
Thanks for the welcome!

I don't think with his delusions of grandeur, I'd have much chance. If he became a thingite he'd probably march in, tear up the manifesto, change our weekday names, and force us to talk about star wars all day long. Oh the horror
Thanks for the welcome!
Lady Scott Posted Dec 13, 2003
If he tore up the manifesto, he'd have to deal with our Warlord, Clive!
maybe we could convince Clive to do a stealth gabbling....
Thanks for the welcome!
Lady Scott Posted Dec 13, 2003
Well, if we can just get him to hang around in the Thingite forum long enough, everyone will think that surely he's a Thingite... even if he refuses to use the proper day names. Then we'll all be shocked to find out he's not actually a Thingite.
Then someone needs to come up with an appropriate title for him and Clive or Amy decides we really need someone with that title in the clan, so they gabble him in, whether he wants to be a Thingite or not.
It's worked a couple of times... And failed miserably a couple of other times.
Besides, even people who insist they don't want to be Thingites can be swayed by the logic of it... eventually. Just gotta keep them coming back often enough, for a long enough period of time.
Thanks for the welcome!

'Tom Pearce, Tom Pearce, Lend me your grey mare,
All along, down along, out along, lee.
For I want for to go to Widdicombe Fair,
Wi' Bill Brewer, Jan Stewer, Peter Gurney , Peter Davy,
Dan'l Whiddon, Harry Hawk,
Ol' Uncle Tom Cobbleigh and all'
Chorus:- "Old Uncle Tom Cobbleigh and all."
Was that the Gurney?
