Afternoon All smiley - biggrin

Damp and drizzly here today. Lazy Sunday, pub then round to a friends for dinner as it's Mrs WA's birthday. She's laoded down with flowers and chocs, might have to give her a hand with the chocs, would be churlish not to lend a hand.

Absolutely, a woman should not be forced to face a box of chocolates all by herself.

Happy to lend a hand in any choc-based emergency!

Good luck to all interviewees, and have a good get-in, David!

Fabulous day today. Some chainsaw action, followed by axe murder on half a ton of logs.

It eases the frustration of being sat on my backside while the rest of the Air Force are sunning themselves in the Med.

I'd rather be at the safe end of a 7.62 rather than the other way round eats!

Lil, my dad would've loved your quiz! Really good pics, but I think I only recognized a couple of them. I may have grown up around air shows and air museums, but my tastes run to the smiley - rocket type of craft...

Good luck with the getting in, David -- and break a leg for the show.

GT, 7.62 is unfortunately old hat now from our side of the fence. The SLR we used gave way to the 5.56mm L1A2. I think along the lines of causing injury to soak up medical aid. There has been some debate as to us going back to the larger round which had real stopping power.

Lil, I was bombarded by more pics of the B-19 from my friend. There are some good video clips of it on youtube. Another couple of happy hours spent looking at old planes...what have you started?! smiley - biggrin

Sounds like your running is building up nicely, kelli.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

Thanks Eats, although my knee is rather sore after the 7.36 miles yesterday so going to rest it today and just do spinning instead.

Spent all day on saturday at the hospital with my dad, he is still very ill and has become anxious and afraid to be on his own. I think a couple of the night nurses have been a bit brusque with him, or have not helped quickly enough when he has called so now he is frightened to be left under their care without somebody from the family. Another CT scan yesterday and he has yet another infection - the doctors keep saying he should be getting better but he clearly isn't. Mum was there yesterday, and stayed overnight to today. I will take over tomorrow again. Poor dad, it is awful seeing him like this.

Mornin Allsmiley - biggrin

Overcast but not cold, good day for a spot of pruning me thinks.

smiley - hug kelli, must be tough with somebody some close. Hope your Dad improves. Nurse can be brusque, sometimes due to their workload but also I think there has been a culture change within the profession; more technology based and less care based.

I only skimmed a couple of pages of backlog, and I don't know if you guys have seen this already: http://xkcd.com/radiation/ but to me it seemed a very good way of getting some perspective on levels of radiation.

*hug* to Kelli, when my mum was in hospital the nurses had her in tears once. I know they have a hard job to do, but... ugh. I hope your Dad makes progress soon.

Agree entirely with overeaction to radiation. Try living in Aberdeen surrounded by lots and lots of granite. Aberdonians glow in the dark like the old porridge advertisement smiley - aliensmile

We had a big scare fad a decade or so ago regarding radiation in homes. Radon in the basement! smiley - yikes
