*comes up the stairs grinning* Yes! Yes!! YES!!! Client looooooved the giclée print and immediately showed it to all her students. She's going to use me from now on, and she wants some business cards from me so she can tell everybody she knows that I do good work.
Whew!
A writing workshop? A garden? Why don't you take one of the empty rooms on the north side of the workshop area? We can have the workbots put in a door to the terrace. See those greenhouses? You can work in there, start a plot anywhere you like, or just put boxes on the terrace. And you are the founder of the writing workshop, not just "in" it.
How do y'all think veiltail goldfish would go with the tetras? They're not carniverous, are they? The goldfish, I mean.

*looking around nervously* Where is everyone? Where are the screen buttons and graphics?
Hello?

Well everything is working just dandy from here. Apart from having a dialup connection on wonky phone lines, of course.
I saw the sun rise today. I didn't mean to, but after I had a nap yesterday evening I couldn't sleep at all when it was actually time to sleep. I shall now babble incoherently for the rest of the day, thanks.
Welcome Boots!
And great news about Frank having stabilised and all, Hypatia

another long day at work.
Having this gut condition has made me realize how bad it sucks to work there. And in the US in general. If I was in a civilised country I would be able to use holliday time to recover from this ailment.

Oh it's pants being under the weather, Marv. Here, look I've brought you a big steaming plate of, er, loverrlly kasha, which would be a staple of B's anti stomach problems diet at the mo. There's probably enough for d'E, too. Particularly after you have refused to eat more than one mouthful.

Marv, if you were in a civilised country you'd get sick pay - full pay, at least at first, until you were better.
*waves at boots* Welcome to the Atelier .
I must go shopping this morning. I forgot to go yesterday and all I've got left is salad. I'm going to have a stick of celery for breakfast .

*hides from the backlog*
Is boots here? *jumps up and down with excitement* Hiya honey!
Sorry about the long absence, I have been hanging out in <./>RF5</.> on behalf of the (ahem) UnderGuide, and then I spent 36 fairly intense hours with my PL before he goes out of radio contact for another friggin' month. Hopefully he will have a phone with him this time, and call me occasionally - and hopefully I won't go quite as loopie-doo as I did last time or (goddess help me) the time before. At least he is back early in August, and then he stays in radio contact till the end of the year, or maybe even next year...
Also I have been temping, and ended up doing about 30 hours last week on the nice little low stress 18.5 hour job that I have... at least I am paid by the hour!
So, what's new?

I am so relieved to hear that Frank is doing well, Hyaptia.
Cassie was locked out all night I thought her flap was set to in only, but the catch was a little awry and she couldn't get in! Whilst H was getting dressed this morning he heard a fight, shot downstairs, opened the front door and Cassie came in a minute or two later. She headed straight for her kibble then a nap. She is rather on edge at the moment, but seems none the worse for wear.
It was the hottest night so far and very uncomfortable and it looks like being another hot day.

Lil, I'm having the same problem.
Gotta run...sick small person. She's sleeping now, but her fever spiked at 102.5. Scary stuff. Apparently has a very bad sinus infection.

Me I'm about to be off to tell the nice people at the job centre what I've been doing to find work and see what help they can give me to find some. Not working is driving me nuts!
Hypatia, good to hear Frank should come through.

Very Happy to hear Frank is improving.
Marv, you don't get sick leave?
Hullo Boots, our paths have only crossed once or twice here, but good to see you.
I'm taking advantage of a couple of days off to decorate the hall. 10 foot high ceilings are very nice until it becomes time to paint them!
On the plus side, we have removed the hardboard panels on the interior doors to discover that the original paneling is still there

Hi Ben! you get around girl! Hi Toccata! thanks for the warm welcome everyone. A founder eh? That sounds posh...how cool...does that mean I get to be on the A page? Had recall at the breast screening clinic this morning...abnormality...Ouch! Second pressing brought the good news. I'm clear. Bad new is I celebrated and paid a fortune for a holiday frock... and I don't even 'do' frocks let alone afford them. Thought for the day 'Where do baby pigeons live?'
take care

Finally able to log on. Took some 12 hours. I had something to say but I've forgotten. Figures.

Ah, everything's back. I've been getting a 502 error from BBCi all morning, so the system must have been ailing last night when all the buttons were a row of little red x's.
Cocktail party this evening. I get to meet the radio people.
MUST finish that gourd this afternoon!

Toc et al, I get 40 hours of sick time per calender year. Mine, alas, is used up. So any time I spend away from work for the remainder of the year is on my own holliday leave (the piddling amount that I get). I was shocked and amazed (literally) when Ti told me that Sweden has by law 5 weeks of holliday per year. I am lucky to see 2.

Coniraya Posted Jul 11, 2003
I have been feeling slightly under the weather today, so I have been drinking more water. I think I was a bit dehydrated due to the hot weather. Tonight should be cooler, last night the temp didn't drop below 23ºC and even with the fan on it was very warm.
Feeling faintly envious of No1 son as he is going to Phil's kneck of the woods to see REM, in Manchester, tomorrow. He is going with his new g/f
Just been reading an article about mammography and how regular screening is probably not a good idea due to the high levels of radiation the breast tissue is subjected to. This is something that we used to talk about when I was working in the Radiology department and none of the Radiographers said they would have it done unless it was purely for diagnostic purposes and not every 3 years. So it looks as if things haven't changed in the intervening 25 years. I hope by the time I'm in the subject age group in 2 years there would have been some clarification on the issue.
