the very complicated process whereby the bank, the realtor, the seller and the buyer all agree that the house is in good shape, and that the buyer can buy it, and the seller can sell it.

If you open a case with The Borg, you will be assigned a priority level. 1-4. Priority 1 is a network down emergency, Priority 2 is business heavily impacted. 3-4 are normal cases. Pri 1 cases (or p1) are very stressfull as you cannot get off of hte case till it is resolved.

Hmm, well, we have been to look at the plans, not entirly as bad as expected, the mature trees are to remain.

But it is way too many houses to squeeze into the area. Another resident turned up to look at the plans and he said we need at least 10 letters responding to the planning application to force a public meeting. However, I am certain that all we can achieve is a reduction in numbers, from 12 to probably 10, possibly 8 if any of the Planning Committee live in the area.

My digital camera proved useful as our visit was out of hours so no copying facilities were available, so I took a photo with the macro lens.

This time last year we were excitedly talking about our holiday to see the fall colours. I would love to do it all over again, but possibly bypassing Maine for more time in Boston, Vermont and Connecticut. No holiday planned for this year yet, but we have do something about a car for H first since his was written off in the accident.

We have fall colors too, Caer! You should drop by for a nice visit! smiley - winkeye FYI, the US Forest Service has a fall foliage report online. Obviously, right now it's not updated, but it will come in handy when your visit approaches--

I have already warned H that our next Stateside visit might require a little more than fortnight! It would be shiny briliant to ramble around, starting off in Boston (because we really didn't do it justice) then flying home from Hawaii (is that sp correct?) after visiting any Salonistas who wished to be visited on the way there!

Of course, this is after we have made our millions! smiley - winkeye

That is extremely good news.

I've never been to Hawaii, but I may get to go the summer after next for a conference. smiley - ok That is if we have the budget for it.

I visited Hawaii in April of 1986 with my parents. We stayed on the North Shore of Oahu at this place http://www.turtlebayresort.com/ and traveled around quite a bit. I loved Hawaii. The rain, when it fell, was warm. It was like taking a gentle shower. Honolulu, however, is a congested tourist trap mess. I highly recommend avoiding (all out-of-state airlines have to fly into it, but you can get out ASAP) it as much as you can.

My husband and I visited Hawaii in April of 1984, when both Kiluea and Mauna Lea were erupting. Kiluea is still erupting. If you go, try to visit several islands and always rent a car and use a good guide book. You can see so much on your own.

We're hoping to take our girls there next summer, frequent flyer miles permitting.

Boots

Boots is cool...'Thy servant a dog' written by boots...edited by Kipling...I have a couple of issues with that (only joshing). Yes please can I be in the writing workshop?
Many decades ago I worked as a script writer for a tiny production company and I met a very special lady who I was not, according to my boss, supposed to get on with. She being a non smoker, hugely professional and single, moi being a chain smoker, baby breeder and sloppy to boot. The team got it badly wrong...we gelled instantly and seventeen years on, despite continent displacement, are still the bestest of friends. I admire her incisiveness, incredible mind and discipline and she likes the fact that I am, in her words 'F****d in the head...A good team methinks and one that should be re-created in the seriously 'f****d in the head' wonderful new world I have stumbled on. It would be soooo coool if we could have a little corner of the map to embrace displaced persons... a literary Priory perhaps? but it must have a garden!
take care
