Welcome to the Atelier, HooToo's epicenter for stimulating conversation and discussion! Have a look at our main page to get yourself oriented if you haven't been here before.
We have three entities to welcome to the salon: Pattern-chaser, Lady Augusta Tiptree (a cat) and GrayDesk, another lurker who hasn't been able to resist joining in. And, in the category of Prodigal Entities, eatsmice has come back from beyond and settled back in to family life.
Welcome and welcome back to you all!
Here are my comments about things that happened and things that we talked about:
modern art, discussion, following from art vs crap quiz
caffeine -- as addictive as nicotine?
which leads naturally on to
how to wake up without caffeine?
answers -- a long hot shower, children, cats, not possible
Titania in booking hell
Matrix Reloaded: The Spoilers
chestnut trees
Bryce gets robbed
Caer's husband writes off the car
Z - a complicated life-form
Cheese
GPS and transponders and CCTV -- Big Brother or safety net?
Discussion of cars and freedoms
agcBen and Sony -- a love story. Not.
eatsmice returns from somewhere else
Chinese restaurants, nomenclature
Everybody eats ham at Easter
Ampton goes on holiday
So does Matina
Farmer's Wife is temporary cook
Quizzes, quizzes
Perhaps that will tempt somebody to re-read the conversation.
I would like to thank Wolfgang for personally bringing in delicious Italian food, while we await Matina's return. The Farmer's Wife is serving, well, wholesome stuff, but we miss the Greekbot touch.
Oh dear. What are we going to do about the traditional FTTF mug?

Marv, that would be the ultimate quiz.
Yup, it's you, but it looks like you might have to wait for your mug.
The sandwiches have followed us here. But so have the other food trolleys and the doughnuts.

Argggg
Hootoo keeps refusing to play tonight.
Everyone else should be glad I missed the sprouts in the last thread
But in a similar vein, it's a shame looney isn't about as I'm sure he'd have a comment or two on this.

I scored 26.82446% - Total Geek
I am astounded that I am that geeky! It must be my large sci-fi dvd collection.
*Has some lasagne.*

One of my friends here at work got even higher than I. He is rated as a geek god.

I scored 22%...I'm a geek. I guess NOT being in band saved me. Well, that and I never really got into D & D or SCA. It's sort of funny, really. Most people who study the medieval period really don't get into SCA...perhaps because that whole anachronism thing rather rankles us.

Interesting that I am still agcB - it really *does* interest me how long a meme takes to fade away and I am rather fond of the initials - but "a broad called Ben" is the permanent baseline now.
Sony - you are right - not my current love story. Mind you - both are pretty traumatic at times.

Whenever the FTFF mug issue is sorted, do you think that it could be filled with some rather than the normal Irish Coffee? It is a bit warm and I don't know that coffee is going to hel me cool down .

The Geek test it totally flawed. I scored 24.85% and am a geek. That is such baloney. I answered truthfully and expected to score a 10 or something. I am so not a geek! I am the most technologically challenged person on hootoo.

I'm a male. I'm Spock. And I'm a Geek - 17.94%
I'm also about to go on holiday for 3 weeks. We move on Monday, then drive to visit friends in Ottawa the following week. Very busy, but I may check in on Sunday.

Missed the mug by miles as usual!
H is most honoured to get a mention in your intro, Lil
11% on the test, with Geek Tendancies. I watch too much Sci Fi channel, own too many dvds and have more than one games console. I shall forward it on to the menfolk.

collects the dirty dishes and the rolling steam table
I think I'll take a break from pasta tonight. I'm experimenting with a marinade for beef and think I'll roast some vegetables on the grill, throw on some ribeyes, toss a baby spinach salad and bake some apple pies. Some days you just want plain old nothing special cooking.
Should be ready in about two hours. That'll give everyone time to take their geek test.
