What ho!
You mention dogs, Lil? We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (sp?), a lovely little dog, and he's usually quite calm, and doesn't freak out at the postman.
Me? Invite criticism? Never!
Very well, as it is a point I would dearly like to sort out, I shall start a new thread about this niggling factor in my h2g2 life.

I have not yet found where it is playing near here. I do hope I did not miss it's run. One of the cinemas near here has one of the IMax screens. That would be a treat.

RE dogs... The most calm dogs I have had have been Labs of various sorts. Retrievers are also well adjusted for the most part. Dobermans (shudder, I really really despise those dogs for the most part, sorry but chilhood trauma does not fade easily) are always skittish in my experiance.

I live about 15-20 minutes away from one of the curved domed IMAX theaters. It's a really great experience except if you aren't used to it, you can get sea sick.

There, I've created a new thread. If anyone has anything to say (but you all have something to read), please head over to it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F38024?thread=104674&post=875085 I went to an IMAX theater once. It was in Switzerland (why does CH always get these things before the UK?), and I saw something called 'Blue Planet', or something like that anyway. It was one of the first movies they made for it, some sort of documentary...

Alas, Imax hasn't made it to Napier. There is one in Auckland though. One drawback is that the films are extremely expensive to make. This means not many have been made.
My vote for dumbest dog goes to the Red Setter. Years ago one of my flat mates had one. She was so devoted to it she even dyed her hair to match the dogs coat. She was a Scot
One memorable day, after exercising Rosco in the local park, she came home in tears. She was upset because owner and dog had been banned from the park. Rosco had so disturbed some of the police horses - that were also exercised in the park - with his moronic barking that three of them had thrown their riders. One policeman broke his leg.

*Notes never to buy a Red Setter. *
Spaniels never seem to be stupid as such, but sometimes do have a tendancy to overreact. Our dog goes mad if my mum (his favourite owner) gets home from only being gone about half an hour!
But he's generally a very calm dog, and always finds the nearest cushion to lie on as soon as he enters a room...
Alas, I must take my leave. A bit earlier, I know, but still...
Oh, I'm - you'll never get this one - updating the Domain in a bit, and was wondering which colour scheme you all think is better. I'll post links to the new logos on ezboards, and you can tell me there or here which colours you like.
Toodlepip!
*Teleports up......and shifts concentration to ezboard and the thread he's just established...*

I grew up with labs and walker hounds. Personally I don't think that you can go wrong with either breed.
Matina, a tea please. Thank you.

Speaking as a girl who is 5'4" living with a guy who is 6'1", height difference is not as big a thing as it could be...
Looney, you are missing out without a local IMAX! I went and saw Fantasia 2000 last year and was just blown away by it. I've also seen many, many of the more factually based movies at the museum. My favorites are probably the dinosaur epic from a few years agai and the Grand Canyon show. Very impressive.

Hi Gw7en
How goes Friday?
Only 20 mins left for me. Yay, then the weekend, and no work, plus I have managed to wangle Monday & Tuesday off too. Oh bliss!

Gw7en, I'll check the one in Auckland out next time I'm up that way. Sounds good.

Oh I know that height is not all that important. It used to be for me however. I guess I am startled to meet people under a full foot shorter than I. I am begining to think that Utah is taller on avarage than many places. I could be wrong but it seems that most of the mormon men I know are topping 6 feet. I just wish I was two centimetres taller. Then I would be exactly two metres, the same height as Darth Vader.

B-17, you lucky dog you! I've still got 2 hours left. That's ok. Its Friday, so I've got the entire weekend to look forward to.
Marv... All I can say is . I have noticed that mormons are tall, even the women. At least that's true here.

*grins at the thought of IMAX*
Saw "The dream is alive" on the one at Kennedy Space Centre
but we haven't anything like it here.
Twas only about four years ago that they had to change the reels here in Elgin, and the ice-cream lady came down to the front.
We always used to laugh at the disbelief on our visitors faces.
Mind you, Inverness now has one of those Warner Village Cinema complexes, but it isnae cheap.

I've been to a few IMAX theatres in my time. Of course, that was mainly back in the days before I moved South, and then moved from there. Those were fun theatres. I remember a train almost crashing into me.
