Ooo, I don't know about that... but there's always ezboard for politics of the proscribed sort.

Sorry, my last post was worded /terribly/! I was mixing two subjects together in some strange concoction of sentences. smiley - winkeye

I wish I could get SAN BETA on the number plate. Even if all letters and numbers were allowed, I could only get SANB ETA, but still...

Ah-hah! Yes, we could use ezboard to talk about the British stuff, but as I stated, I'm not going to say much about it anyway...

d'Elaphant, as far as I can ascertain I am not allowed to mention the things at all effective from now until after the things have happened. I cannot explain the extent, organisation or significance of the things. I cannot compare the things with other things that take place elsewhere. This could well be the situation until May 2002 by which time the things have to have been called by the whatnots that are currently in power (due to their success in the things that took place nearly four years ago).

Dang. The clostest tey'll let me go in terms of number plates is SB ETA, and even that has to be S13 ETA. And you'll never believe it, but that one's taken! I'll talk to my dad about getting S12 ETA. smiley - winkeye

*laughing hysterically at Amy's post* Which prophet was it being sent up in Life of Brian who stood there at the wall being all didactic like that?

Chris, your dad will let you do that, christen the new car in honour of your virtual world?

I aim to entertain, Lil. smiley - smiley

And you're right, I can post to answers to questions about the "things" from this esteemed assembly to the forum on ezboard. That's all I want to do. I have no inclination to discuss politics here.

Well, the number plate could be worth something if my book makes it big! smiley - winkeye

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

Chris, here in the States (some of them at least) it's possible to get a driver's license a couple of years early if you live and work on a farm, and have a need to drive tractors or pickup trucks for farming purposes.

Do you think you could have the Jag declared a farm vehicle?

Well Amy, "Anything's Possible", as my motto goes. smiley - winkeye

I don't think my dad would like to lower his Jag to the status of farm vehicle (no offense to sentient vehicles of that class, of course). smiley - winkeye

I've just posted my two penny's worth in that dive Smiley Ben was/is occupying, if he hasn't already left in shame. I think he needs to be put straight.

Anyway, I'd best be off.

Toodlepip everyone! smiley - smiley

Last year a mate of mine stored his 1965 Jag in my garage. Six months later when he moved the blxxdy thing the garage's concrete floor was covered in oil stains.

Chris tell your Dad to dump the Jag and buy a BMW. Better engineering.

*drags in trailing cake frosting and sprinkles*

Hullo. I have done it to myself, yes indeed. d'E, it wasn't my birthday, but my little one's. She turned 5. We had a party at preschool on Thursday, one for the family last night, and tonight, I have 5 five year olds over for a sleepover. And my husband is gone for the weekend. Geez, I don't know which is worse, taxes or children's birthdays! Lil, what do you say we step around the corner for a coupla pints?!

In reply to an earlier post by 33 (Phil), Latin does make it easier on grammar learning, but what ever happened to actually teaching grammar in school? I've got college freshmen that can't find the subject, object and verb in an English sentence. No wonder we're slipping behind. Although Montana is currently having a huge education crisis, which basically amounts to no money for education, tons for the penal system. Makes tons of sense, eh?

And this isn't a discussion so much as a question....didn't Tony put the elections off because of some foreign or domestic issue?

We're honestly not allowed to talk about it here, Montana, but if you want to raise the issue without fear of moderation, go on over to ezboard. The link is on the atelier's page. One of the posts on the Smiley Ben rant thread has already been Linda'd. Shame, he made some good points.

Sorry, didn't realize a question would bring the moderators around. Hope I don't get ...gasp.... moderated! Anyway, hope I didn't mess anything up! What does it mean, that that site is closed?

A site hasn't been closed, I don't think. But Auntie has taken us so close unto her bosom that if we talk British politics just before the election, people might think that Auntie connived for the view to be expressed, and if the people were especially mean-minded they might sue Auntie. It's a topic that has been closed.

For my own part, I am looking forward to Easter, when Matina's Lenten sacrifice comes to an end and she starts baking something other than hot cross buns again.

I guess we are still allowed to discuss Dear Leader Bush and his relentless devotion to the cause of allowing American companies to pollute the planet. "It's the economy, stupid," as his Dad lived to regret not understanding.

Or as wiser people prefer to phrase it: "It's the stupid economy arguement."

Ah, well met, Looney! We shall have to compensate our inability to be nasty about British politics by becoming even more waspish about the US administration. Meanwhile, it's time for a new thread: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F38024?thread=106221&post=890838
