[Yar] [punching his fists together] Works for me!
[Joseph] Oh boy ... we're in trouble now!
[Corrigible] And I just /know/ Yar's gonna pull out some excessive attack that'll cause problems like the /last/ time.
[Yar] The Darth makes a point. Yo, Ghoti-man! What happens if you get completely obliterated?

*To Scandrea* Don't go behind the door, that's an illusory area protected by an invisible wall. Go THROUGH the door, it leads back to a Casino.
*To Yar*
Ain't gonna happen, boyyo.
*What looks like a cannon (made of water) rises out of the Marsh. A large ball of ice is shot out of the cannon (at incredible velocity) towards Burford Solo, while the water at Yar's feet (land or not, it's still muddy enough) turns to steam and begins to rise*

Okay, so far this makes 2 out of 2 adventures where I've posted as Affy thinking that I was posting as Ghoti....just goes to show that I can't hide as well online as I can IRL.
So....just imagine that I posted the previous post as Ghoti. Then it'll all work out.
Marsh
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Nov 30, 2004
Heh.
[Yar casts Hyper Lightning on the water, on the basis that water conducts electricity, and thus it'll be conducted towards Ghoti no matter /where/ it strikes.]
Marsh
Scandrea Posted Nov 30, 2004
*Is feeling lucky that her boots are rubber-soled, but somewhat guilty that she's standing on solid(ish) ground while Laguna is still sinking. While Yar is engaged with Ghoti, she uses it as a distraction to make a break for the tree.*
Marsh
Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 1, 2004
*KL and Archimedes sizzle when the lightning attack is cast. KL glares, and spits some very mild acid at Yar*
KL-DON'T do that...
Marsh
Ghoti Posted Dec 2, 2004
*The water where the spell hits seems to quarantine itself the instant before the electricity can spread, with the edges of "other water" near it quickly slipping away and turning to ice to prevent the easy passage of the energy. When the danger passes, the ice melts and the water flows back to normal*
Oh, I think he should try it a few more times....
*The steam rising around Yar should have probably reached the level where prolonged contact could easily produce some second degree burns. It does so now, as it wasn't clear enough in the first post referring to the steam*
*Laguna's about two posts away from being completely submerged, just so you know*
*Scandrea makes it about a third of the way to the tree when what looks like two giant squid-like arms (made entirely of water) rise from the water and attempt to stop her from progressing*
Marsh
Scandrea Posted Dec 2, 2004
Waargh!
*Tries to dodge the arms.*
Look, I know *duck* that you don't like us being here, but -woah, watch the hat!- that's kind of a buddy of ours drowning over there, and- yikes!- I'd really appreciate it if you let me go and save him!
Marsh
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Dec 2, 2004
[Yar jumps back away from the steam]
[Yar] Okay! Time to fight water with water!
[[Summon: Leviathan]]
[Yar and the other ... er, people on his side vanish. A gigantic serpent appears, and calls forth a tsunami which washes over the area. It then vanishes, and everyone reappears where they'd vanished.]
[Laguna] OMG WTF!
[Woogy throws himself at where he thinks Ghoti is. There's an explosion, sending him flying back to where he'd been before.]
Marsh
Ghoti Posted Dec 2, 2004
Sorry, I'm not entirely sure that I get Woogy's reaction. What caused the explosion? I'm reserving judgement until I know for sure. Sorry.
Wait....you tried to get me with a water storm? Okay....so now I've got more water to use. Brilliant, Napoleon.
*To Scandrea* If I let him go, will you leave from whence you came?
Whence. Weird word.
*A ninja made entirely of water rises next to Yar and attempts to deliver several rapid-fire punches and kicks*
Marsh
Scandrea Posted Dec 2, 2004
Well, it depends. Is there another way we can get where we're supposed to be?
Marsh
Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 2, 2004
KL-Doubtfull.
*So saying he pulls out a spell scroll labelled "Fweep" and begins looking it over*
This should help us...hmmm....maybe not....
Marsh
Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 2, 2004
KL-*To Yar*Don't suppose you have a high-frequency sonic emission unit, do you? My Ghoti had a few built-in weaknesses that this one might fall against.
Marsh
Scandrea Posted Dec 3, 2004
*Still trying to dodge the tentacles.*
Would a really high pitched scream work?
Marsh
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Dec 3, 2004
I'm afraid logic and "why/how something happens" have little to do with any of the Arfenhouse characters. Oh, all right, he was carrying a miniature explosive with him.
[Yar] Ice2! [attempts to freeze the Ninja] Let's see ... I could summon Siren. She's good with sounds. [ponders] In fact, it's probably a very good thing that she causes people to be focused on what she /sounds/ like instead of what she /looks/ like ... the Moderators'd ... [trails off under his breath]
[Joseph listens carefully, takes out a rifle, and tries to fire at where he thinks Ghoti's voice is coming from. However, even if it /does/ hit, it should cause roughly as much injury as twanging a ruler against your arm would.]
Marsh
Afgncaap5 Posted Dec 3, 2004
KL-Whatever you do, Yar, summon someone who can stand here with us for a reasonable amount of time. One shot simply wouldn't be enough.
Marsh
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Dec 3, 2004
[Yar] Oh, well, in /that/ case ...
[[Summon: Siren]]
[He takes out a FFX-style summoning staff, then swings it around. There's a bright glow around him, and then a large rock suddenly bursts out of the water in front of him. Part of the swamp nearby suddenly changes to an ocean setting, from which a wingéd woman with supernatural beauty and strategically-placed feathers flies, carrying a harp, and lands on the rock. The ocean scenery fades back into swamp. (Warning: this Summon spell is not compatible with FF-DoS.)]
[Yar] So ... supersonic waves, did you say?
Marsh
Ghoti Posted Dec 3, 2004
*Yar's spell does freeze the ninja. Now, instead of a liquid ninja fighting him, there is a ninja of ice fighting him. Joseph's shot, through some miracle, does manage to hit something, causing all of the watery creations to waver for a moment, but they go back to normal quickly*
*The water around the feet of all the heroes attempts to freeze over*
