h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*The slide from the bottom of the popcorn bowl lands at the end of what looks like a very, very large ballroom. As usual, a door can be seen at the other end. The whole place just radiates with the standard "Boss Room" vibe*

aaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-oof!

*Scandrea lands, rather awkwardly, at the end of the slide.*

*KL slides down as well, running into Scandrea. And seconds later, SLR runs into KL*

KL-We need to get off this slide quickly....

Mm vmll, mm mmn mmvoom GRT VFF MM!

[I will, as soon as you GET OFF ME!]

[Yar, Corrigible, and Joseph all collide and form a pile]

[Joseph] Ow! I'm the one who jumped in LAST! How did I get UNDER you two!?

*KL jumps off the pile, quickly joined by SLR. They look around the ballroom, but don't take any steps further into it yet*

KL-Spacious....

*Wriggles out from underneath.*

... never go first...

*Stands up.*

[Yar, Corrigible, and Joseph right themselves]

[Joseph] I have a bad feeling about this ...

*A PA System crackles to life*

AA5 VO-My thanks go out to Yar Kramer for this boss fight. I could never have designed it without his superb robotics design on Justice. I added a few tweaks of my own, but I think you'll see what I'm talking about. May I be the first to present....NJustice!

*A robot that looks nearly identical to the one that Yar built in the Robot Rumble materializes into the middle of the room*

Okay, I'm imagining the themesong for this fight as being to Justice's themesong, "Meet Again", what Robo-Ky's themesong is to Ky Kiske's themesong: identical, except randomly changing the pitch up and down, separately between instruments, so that it sounds slightly worse than the "Share And Enjoy" themesong from the Hitchhiker radio show.


[Yar] Heh. Yo, N-Justice! Ever heard the expression "fighting fire with fire"?

[He takes out a remote-control and presses on it. Something resembling a grey version of Samus Aran's Morph Ball appears, then de-morphs into the original Justice.]

[Justice] Haaaa! Do you think I was foolish enough to reveal all my abilities!?

[Yar holds down L1 and R1 on the device. Justice is promptly surrounded by a golden glow]

[Yar] There. Gold Mode.

AA5 VO-You'll forget that when Justice was photographed after his victory at the Robot Rumble, he was also scanned, Yar! And with my current reality-bending techniques I happen to have some very, very good scanners. And I believe I've already mentioned my "improvements."

*NJustice begins glowing with a kind of silvery light*

AA5 VO-Um,....I know that looks silver, but it's supposed to be platinum....not my fault that silver and platinum have nearly identical sheens. So believe me, that's platinum mode. Silver mode's way different.

[Yar considers this]

[Yar] Lady and gentlemen, we could be screwed. [glances at the remote] I knew I should've made Gold Mode a function of this instead of Justice 'imself ... Still, I've got a few tricks ready ...

[Gold Justice stands ready, tail stylistically moved forward, waiting for Platinum NJustice to make the first move.]

Better make them fast!

*Whispers to KL*

Y'know, if we get in a pinch here, do you think that healing spell I learned in the last boss fight would help us out?

KL-Well, yes, it might....assuming that we live long enough for a healing to be effective....SLR! You're a Robot Rumble champion, can you....

SLR-LEPRECHAUNS!

KL-....never mind....

*NJustice takes a fighting stance, and quickly teleports to behind Justice where he attempts a light jab before teleporting back*

[However, the pose Justice was in turns out to be Valkyrie Arc, a move in which he gets into a stylish pose with his tail, and if the opponent attacks him, he catches them in the tail and hurls them behind him. His next move is to launch a Nitro Bomb towards NJustice.]

*NJustice activates his "Kinetic Ball Reflection" attack, which targets projectile or energy attacks, and shoot out a return blow of the same sort, effectively meaning that Justice now has two Nitro Bombs heading his way. Or, alternatively, NJustice just happened to perform the exact same move that Justice did, and was really lucky about it. Kinda hard to tell*

[Justice, however, sets off his own Nitro Bomb right as NJustice starts to send it back, then jumps over NJustice's Nitro Bomb and attempts to use Michael Sword, described in the previous Robot Rumble Arena thread, on NJustice's head.]

*AA5 watches from his control room as NJustice's status bar drops, and as NJustice himself is thrown into one of the mirrored walls of the ballroom by two nitro bomb explosions, barely dodging the sword attack*

AA5-Grrr....that's it! I'm switching to manual!

*AA5 initiates the manual overide, and a gaming controller emerges from a wall. AA5 looks at it for a moment, uncertain that he knows how to hold it properly....however, with a list of all combo moves in front of him, he's confident that he can take his opponent*

Okay, then,....this button jumps, this is a weak kick, this is a stronger kick,.....

Actually, in Guilty Gear, the buttons are Punch, Kick, Slash, and H.Slash, but this is NJustice, so I'll let you do what you want.


[Justice moves back and forth a few times]

[Yar] Okay, now his tension meter is all full up!*

[Justice now charges up to NJustice and uses Imperial Ray. This consists of a large beam of light that swings around roughly 300 degrees around in front of him, starting at about 60 degrees (counting from straight up) behind him. However, if Justice is close enough to NJustice, NJustice gets hit by a 41-hit combo. ]

[*Footnote: It goes up REALLY QUICKLY in most characters' Gold Mode. Fortunately, Justice isn't one of the ones who's CONSTANTLY full.]

*blinks*
