Didn't I warn you about hubris?
*The walls of water, after they finish stretching to the ceiling and the walls of the cavern, begin to slowly move towards each other and the raft between them*
Now then. While I'm certainly willing to talk, you people need to learn a few manners. You don't make rude demands when you barge into someone else's home. As we're on my turf, I really would like to see that Lego before I make any promises. But if you're lives mean that little to you, then by all means let the dog chew it up while he's still got some time.

Is anyone else really, really hungry for calimari right now?

I could just press the icon on my Palm and see where the portal takes us
I would leave it up to Garius or Affy to decide where we appeared though

*Not so eager to play this game anymore. Grabs a grenade from Red Dog and duct tapes the block to the grenade. Pulls the pin, but holds the handle.*
If those walls of water get here, then I let go of the grenade and it goes off, obliterating the block. So, I suggest that you stop the water walls.
Now, look, Water Guy. We want to get to the other side of this lake and you want this little lego block here. Surely we can work something out where we all get what we want. Um, except, perhaps, Zeppo. You know, because if he got what he wanted, then you wouldn't get what you wanted, if you know what I mean. Heh, heh.
Anyway, what if we tied one end of a rope to the lego block and the other end to this kitchen sink here. Then we give you the kitchen sink. The rope would be just long enough to reach the far shore. So then, you let us get to the far shore, where we would have to leave the block behind in order to go any farther (since we would be at the end of our rope) And we would have to put the pin back in the grenade, or else we would get blown up ourselves. Um, maybe it had better be a chain rather than a rope. And it could be padlocked to the lego with you having the only key. You wouldn't be able to just pull on the rope and get the block before we reach the shore, because then the grenade would go off. We wouldn't be able to steal the block because we wouldn't be able to undo the padlock.
So, what do you say?

*to the others* I wonder how you padlock a lego block?

Ghoti Posted Jun 6, 2004
Goodness, you *are* a desperate sort, aren't you? I suppose that I can agree to your deal if, as has just been pointed out, you can succesfully padlock the lego. However, I'll only accept if I can provide the rope.
*A thrashing eel pokes its head out of the water*
And of course, if you don't accept I can always just go shopping in a few weeks for another Lego. They're becoming rare, but still on the market for collectors.
