i'va added everyone to list, and people may be interested in F94020?thread=258677&latest=1 . my worry is that if this idea does develop it will most certainly not be in time for the iraq crisis, but hopefully it will provide a place to talk for future crisis'.

I too would like to protest. It's appalling behaviour. By the way, have people also been using the BBC's complaints form to express their outrage and/or indifference?

the comments form for BBC services is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/contact/com_email.shtml, I went there and did my best impression of an outraged member of the public.

Alex- I used that complaints form and received an email telling me I'd complained to the wrong place. Fortunately, i have an italic or two frantically trying to work out where complaints should be directed, as it's not exactly normal for complaints to be about aspects of an overriding BBC editorial policy rather than more specific matters.

I've just read that in the land of the free and the home of the brave, where freedom of speech is said to be valued and an unalianable right, bulldozers are currently at work on various Dixie Chick CDs and the band is suffering a boycott for remarks one of the band made in London which wasn't totaly 'with ' the war.
the singer sais that "Just so you know. We're ashamed the President of the United States comes from Texas."
Hmm what does this remind me of............?
A man was recently arrested for wearing an anti war T shirt in a shopping centre in Albany NY - an anti war counsellor was invited to leave town in Pennsylvannia
Seems like we might be having it easy with H2G2

I know careless talk costs lives, but what are we going to do that will change the current situation. Iraq's the only situation that is remotly contrivercial (or however it's spelt, I don't care much)!!!

I don't know whether this has been mentioned before but: I think it's highly sensible that all people who have signed the petition add a reference to A1000080 to their user names as long as this goes. Maybe at least for the next two weeks. People who have been very active in forums over the past months/years are especially valuable of course. Thank you.
