A Conversation for Protest Against BBC Policy Over Iraq

I've probably horribly misquoted that line, but that's how it is. I'd like to sign my name to this petition. I personally don't want to talk about the W.A.R on I.R.A.Q, but I certainly don't agree with the idea of censoring any and all discussion about it.

So much for discussions about "Life, The Universe and EVERYTHING". DNA would be heartbroken, I'm sure...

You've got a good point about the whole EVERYTHING bit... it's true, they would be heartbroken to see such an important issue go un-discussed...

I also support the petition...

I think the ban must have originated higher up than the BBC itself.
Write/e-mail your MP (if you are a UK citizen) asking why.

Sorry, I didn't intend to sound dictatorial. What I should have said is:

Those of us that are a UK citizens may like to ask our MPs if they can explain this &, if so, can they defend it?

Is there any real point in writing to your MP? The BBC is independent of Parliament in terms of operational control....

And wouldn't it be a bit of an over-reaction anyway?

It's a good idea to remind MPs what voters care about (inc. Free Speech). Just complaining about censorship here could I suppose be considered as an over-reaction, but what is happening here could be used as a concrete example of the curtailing of Free Speech.

Obviously waiting for this kind of this censorship to be applied everywhere would be too late.........

...and if we make a noise now, they may think twice about repeating the action next time (if there is a next time.)
