I'm much happier with cheese when I don't have to think about where it comes from.

... I'd have to agree with that!
We just got back yesterday from the closing! Yay!!!™ We're moving everything else next week. We'll be official homeowners on the 5th!
Lady Scott, my brother-in-law's house backs up to a huge field ... in fact, all of the houses on his block do. I guess the farmer sold the parcels of land that run along the road. Still creeps me out ... too much of a .
elwood, TJ is planning on cutting the backyard only around once a month, and doing the front every week. It's just too much to handle everything ... especially since most of the backyard is just crabgrass.
The owners seem very nice. Part of the deal was that they leave the lawn tractor. He decided it was 4 years old, and starting to give him trouble, so he's buying a brand new one, and leaving it for us. Needless to say, TJ's tickled pink! He's also giving us 4 boxes of the stone he used on the front of the house and the fireplace. I want to use it for a raised garden in front.
Let me know when you're going to Cedar Point, elwood. I'm sure we'll make a day of it ... one of these days!
Mistadrong, my folks had neighbors that kept goats in the last place they rented on Bequia. The smell from them doesn't make up for the grass-cutting convenience!
I don't have to grow to love the house, El. I *already* love it! And I know it sounds huge, but with everybody fitting their homes into it around here, I don't know if we'll have enough room for anything!

Well TJ might reconcider that once a month plan for the back yard, if there has been any rain during that month, it'll be ten times the trouble of mowing it more often.
We have always heard that Cedar Point does a great Halloween weekend. Could be the year to go?!

"Halloween is a big treat for me, so many unsuspecting
souls about" [Mistadrong]
As P. T. Barnum might say, there's a new unsuspecting soul born every minute.
The Crimean War could still be won, with enough added troops.

when the brits stole our fleet 200 years ago we planted a lot of oak trees in order to build replacements
they should be ripe for harvesting now

'twas him. The legendary Terli... He was just playing with the internet last night, just before being handed a joyful baby girl to coo at him and randomly say "iaow (meow)" and "wah-wah (quack-quack)" while he gave her a bath.

Someone's obviously going round Liverpool handing out babies.
Be careful opening the door next time.

It must be the folksong fairy
U gave my love a cherry that had no stone.
I gave my love a chicken that had no bone.
I gave my love a baby, but then, you see,
My love got very angry, and she said to me:
"I didn't mind the cherry that had no stone.
I didn't mind the chicken that had no stone,
But when you give a baby, there's just one thing:
You ought to give at least an engagement ring. .
