(Not sure who the irate EP Price is, but he sounds enough like Pierce the Pirate that the two must be cousins....)

I read fairly recently that the word 'dessert' originated from when people left the table after a meal, while it was cleared by their servants- they'd stand around and eat sweetmeats and stuff. It was in Girouard's 'Life in the English Country House' if anyone's interested They literally 'voided' or 'deserted' the table, see?

I have half a mind (which is about all that's left anyway) to adopt a name like "Miss Elly Poopoo," or something even weirder, so people will have *no clue* who I am.

I am now Paul H (No longer Miss Elly Poopoo).
A lot of people are going to wonder when, why, or how I became
Miss Elly Poopoo.

Half a Wal Mart must be a concept similar to half a hole.
Wal Mart are in the UK but they've disguised themselves
as some other store.

Wal-Mart has been around long enough that other stores have figured out how to compete against them. They are probably not going to grow much more, if at all.
