OMG - have you seen the new Google Doodle?
You can call me TC Posted Jun 13, 2014
That's cute! I couldn't find it last night.
Looks like they're doing one every day.

In the Philippines they chose to celebrate their independence. Where on this new doodles archive can I see which countries showed the doodles? It doesn't seem to be on google.com (German version) at all. But, as I said above, why show something that every single other website in the country is headlining anyway?
Oh - it is on google.de. Go figure.

Here's the archival report page on the June 14th doodle
with the drummer E and dancing tree L:

If you scroll down a bit on these archival reports there is
usually a map in a box on the right showing each doodle's 'reach'.
(It must be June 14th somewhere - or are they just scared to admit
that today is actually Friday the Thirteenth.)

It says June 13th now but TC's original link had a preview
of June 14th with the two Os as football players.
Carry on.

Are we going to have distracting and irritating ball animations and Brazillian carnival animations from now until the end of the so called World Cup, as brought to us by the following list of sponsors ...

Let's have something realistic like being mugged and ra in one of those ... or maybe a team of lumberjacks slaughtering those natives whilst chopping down ... in order to make those stadia in the middle of the Jungle

'so called World Cup'.
Run by FIFA the world body that oversee's football (and corrupt practice)(allegedly) - 209 nation members, as opposed to the 'World Series' (Baseball) contested by 29 teams from USA and one from Canada.

Today's is quite simple - the 'l' heading a football. It made me smile.

Canada.ca has a combo of Whirled Cup and Fathers' Day today.
A moustachioed man skips along holding the hand of a young boy
with a soccerball, both wearing jaunty green toques or berets
with a slight French air.
The 'reach' map shows it has pretty wide distribution in the US,
UK, Japan, India, Venezuela, Argentina, etc..
But my link to .com shows only the basic google logo doodle.
This is surprising since Fathers' Day is a big deal in USA.

We've been enduring childish Whirled Cup googles
for some time now...
But today's strikes me as somewhat poignant; a crowd
observes a huge TV screen in a windy outdoor setting;
the antenna bends in the wind and the signal is lost.
It struck me because Hurricane Arthur has passed overhead
here in Nova Scotia just as the F-1 coverage of qualifying
from Silverstone was about to begin. And the power went out.
It's back now of course four hours later but now I'm gonna
have to Google search for the qualifying results online and
hope to find some visuals or a delayed broadcast somewhere.
I may be gone some time...

Today's doodle (in the UK) celebrates the 156th birthday of Emmeline Pankhurst.

Hmmm... and it features a new "Share" button. This offers links to share on the usual sites, Friendface, Twitr, and that one that no one uses. Also an email link and a shortened URL to copy and paste.

Today's Doodle celebrates what would have been Nelson Mandela's 96th birthday, or Nelson Mandela International Day if you prefer. (That's what USA TODAY calls it.) Pressing the arrow on the right steps you through some quotes and scenes that I assume are from his life.
