Basically, I am in agreement. You don't give people a chance to prove they are worthy of the highest respect (or any other level) if you don't *treat* them with respect from the get go. It doesn't mean you should shine everybody's shoes.

Taff: You said I was cherry-picking in the other thread. I gave you a way temporarily to figure out my phone number from the stream number of a certain thread. It's the thread you would guess it is if it had to be a certain specific thread.

Taff: replace would with *should*. Maybe you're not even that bright.

Mde it to the early 700's, but there is now a large bloody patch on the wall where I have been slamming my head. I may well take up sleeping.

Taff: Just another piece of evidence you choose to ignore.

Apologies accepted from Taff...and as for suicides on the wing: some of you will know I've been through something similar myself this last month, so sympathies.
HOWEVER: as a general note to all those who indulge in the current fashion for 'ironic' gypsy/p***y jokes:
'It's all fun and games until someone gets herded into a shower room.'

>>One phrase has been used a couple of times by someone who I have completely agreed with up to this point. He or she says "respect has to be earned". No. Disrespect* has to be earned.<<
That's me (and I'm a he ). When I say respect has got to be earned, it's not like my default state is disrespect: my default state is neutrality - polite and kind. But that's not the same as respect.

thats another reason not to take your posts seriously, you keep adding corrections the later on you refer to the original post as some sort of evidence when you yourself have pointed out it wrong
try to read your posts first, and give accurate information instead of comming back all the time with corrections,
you keep saying you made errors and they were signifficant, did you ever go back and do the original calculation you were intending to do????did that come out as significant as well or did you just go with the result you liked better and fitted your patern .

God, what sort of loser has to resort to making threats to a complete stranger? Julzes mate, perhaps you've misunderstood the nature of this forum, but it's completely anonymous: I could walk past you at any time and you wouldn't be any the wiser.
My post on respect was neither to you nor about you, but this is. You are utterly pathetic: other people are humouring you because, well, they're nicer people than I am. Do not mistake that for them liking you or respecting you.
Now, for some reason the button is out of action, but as soon as it's back up I'll be yikesing the threat, however laughable and unrealistic it might be. The mods don't take kindly to people making threats so with any luck we won't have to put up with you for much longer.
Thank you for absolutely proving that you aren't worth the slightest shred of of respect

And isn't it odd, the people I like and respect are people like Taff, Gif, Iago Noggin, Anhaga (the list goes on )
Elsewhere*, Julzes is telling me He's already met the extraordinary evidence standard and he can see 'why geniuses don't hang about in places like this.' He's predicted I'll change my mind (I presume that goes for you all as well) when I'm capable of considering his 'evidence'.
Gif did a fairly through demolition of the birthday > trinity test site thing (I was about to say a while back - but Julzes is appearing in some many threads I've lost track now of where it was...) but the point was it is possible for our scepticism to be unmoved all while your saying 'I've proven this weird coincidence!' Even allowing for the maths to be correct (which isn't a given - as people who's mathematics skills I also respect have long since fled) and which Gif also I seem to recall demonstrated significant weakness (not of counting per se but of accuracy and consistency) EVEN allowing for that it establishes nothing about why a birthday could coincide with a particular events in history. I'm led to rather think 'So what?'
