3Dots? More like three zeros if you ask me.

More like simple coincidence to me.

Ooo, was that a sneaky insult? Well done.

Xiory: I thought when you said: 'More like three zeros if you ask me.' you were talking about statistical probability.

Julzes:
Have you estimated the average number of odd links you could make between two random strings of digits, and estimated the number of digit strings you come across? I bet there is a very low probability that you won't find very many "coincidences".

Posts 985&6. This is not the thread to ask me such questions in, and it's not relevant to my last posting because I was doing what 3Dots thought I was doing.

"Take the example regarding my phone number and the number of the thread I created dealing with the supernatural. First of all, I noticed that they differ by changing one digit the slightest amount, and second I calculated the probability of this."

Out of all the phone numbers and other random numbers you know, isn't it very probable that you will one day run across a number somewhere - anywhere - else, that is similar to, but not even exactly, one of the many numbers you know?

Do you also think there is something supernatural going on if you see a sentence that is similar to another that you have seen before? There are several orders of magnitude more words than there are numerals....

Oh, I didn't know you were on that subject. Yes. I know statistical arguments. Here is the coincidence that can't be ruled out as a pure coincidence by Iluvatar's reasoning: My (7-digit) phone number, which is the same as the one I had when I first used the phone as a child, and the thread number of the first thread I created, which is on the supernatural, differ only in that the next-to-last digit of the latter is one greater than that of the former. It's not an isolated event, really, and I'm done with this subject.
