I did not say you said or implied it. It's just not the first time. Try to get quotes of me fully out with anything you think might be relevant, please. Plus, there was an earlier quote by someone else that my last post could have referred to.

I've taken it that whatever people know my phone number and when best to call are too cheap to call overseas, by the way. Worse would be to trust my claim and then think it means nothing at the same time, or assume it's false with no really good reason. Worse yet would be to have no curiosity on my overall claims.

How about: numerology is *a bit* rubbish?

Is that mild enough for you?

You're getting the same level of attention that a flat Earther would. OK, a bit more as I doubt a flat earther could use a pc but you get my drift.

And it's nothing about 'disrespect' to you merely that numerology is bunk.

People do rethink their opinions. I have done. (I'm an atheist now; having joined this site as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.)

Reason? The faith itself or the people you don´t feel "with" anymore?

(Just curiosity - I never felt attracted to any belief)

I did not know that factet. Kudos to you.smiley - ok

I hope it wasn't a bad experience realising that what you believed in was fiction and myth. It can take a lot of guts to do that...less than starting to believe since when people start to believe its usually due to them being in a bad situation anyway so its easier to strt to believe that there's some invisible being watching over you...or someone died for your sins etc.

It's more difficult to unwire all the stuff and realise: this is it.

>unwire all the stuff<

3Dots, that´s the problem not only as to religion. Ask people who fought and lost an addiction - admitting you had been traveling on the wrong ticket...hard. Very hard. I´m an unrepentant alcoholic, so I think I know.

Pit: yes, I agree...however, when you unwire the stuff from being an alcoholic you know (even in the back of your mind) that drinking too much is bad for you and hence that can help you to unwire it...even though when you do drink it feels good (not wanting to get into the addiction cycle stuff though here as I'm sure there are times when people drink and don't enjoy it etc. I am sure you can give more insights etc but I'm being broad on the allegory here)

When it comes to 'giving up religion' you are giving up something which, on a personal level' seems good for you...and also eternal life when you die.

Even though you know alcohol is bad for you you still do it...people who do religion do it because it fills them with so much joy and love of and love from Jesus (or whichever of the currently meme'd deities are around).

Hence, the subtle difference with 'giving up religion' because it's like admitting that you parents never existed such is the 'connection' to the gods and prophets wired into the brain.

Yah, I think I´m not even able to explain it in my mother language...giving up a religion because you have found it being but a hollow shell - you have to admit to yourself that you squandered years of your life...not really what I mean, and the comparison to me being much more "myself" when half in the bag doesn´t hit ti either.
