How do you fasten your bra? (possibly Female centric)

I think the figure for wrong-fitting bras is down from around 80% to about 70%
Which is still far too many!
*grr*
I have a failed entry on the subject! (there was already a bra fitting entry... a little out of date but too different for mine to simply be incorporated as an update)
I always say, if you've more than a handful (of overhang) you're bra's too bleedin small

I haven't even got a handful.

What bugs me is that mine have different sizes, and I haven't the skill or patience or money to buy two sizes each time and cut apart and reassemble to a bra that fits both Y.
If the right one fits, the left one huddles in a corner of its cup, if the left one fits, the right one's cup runneth over.
I suppose this means I'm a misfit...
*Enjoys the fact that this might distract a few more minds

Not so much a misfit as a "doesn't fit".
Actually, you're normal. Most women have one smaller than the other, sometimes by a cup-size or more. (In my case, right is smaller than left.) Nothing you can do about it, and nothing the lingerie industry can do, either. The variations are too great for it to be worth their while to produce bras that fit everybody.

Mine are relatively similarly sized, but quite different shapes... It's rather annoying, though they even up well in a bra.
If you have very uneven breasts, you can get some bras that have removable padding, so you can take it out of one side and leave it in on th e other, or even put both lots into one...

Keeping in mind that a lot of the time bra's wil be worn to support breasts, rather than for being looked at, is it really beyond the capacity of bra makers to create a modular range, so you can mix 'n' match a support strap, 2 cups and shoulder straps (if wanted)?
Even assuming that there will be a large number of women who have a disparity of more than 1 cup size, there's no reason it couldn't be done, beyond the finantial risk, which is offset by the potential financial gain of having the only really adjustable bra on the market.

Ok, good idea but compare it to this: around 70-80% of the bra-buying market dont bother with making sure theirs bras even basically fit, so why would they pay over the odds and become loyal customers to a company who makes bras even more difficult, complicated and scary?
I'm not sure modular bras would work too well, I mean, people complain about a fiddly strap tightener, imagine all the fixings etc of a modular one, not to mention the shapes etc. And for larger busts it wouldn't be strong enough... A lot of the breast shaping is reliant on careful and clever design that uses the whole band as support etc...
Wish it would work though, would be amazing!

It would only need an extra fastening in the front - the rest would be finding right and left pieces of the correct size in band and cups.
The front fastening could be made more or less permanent when purchased, or used as a front loader bra...
Ooh, to get the patent for this! Too late now, I suppose, it's on the interweb, and probably bbc property now...
But it would be neat to be able to get the right sizes by getting two halves put together!

It wears out too fast... fluff sticks to it and it doesn't work as well after a couple of washes. Plus is bulky and noisy. So, no thanks

I've not found it not working after washes (on dog stuff at least) but I can't use it on a bra cos it sticks to my hair.
I just wish they'd make bras with JUST ONE HOOK so I can do them up in the proper place.

I wish I were a size where there was only *one* hook to do up
(I'm of the pour pointed bits into bra, grapple with hooks at the back and then hoist straps into position school of thought)
That was the way I was trained in the dim distant days of the past when I worked in the equivalent of Grace Brothers' corsetry department.
Twas a long time ago..... they hadn't discovered the word Lingerie in the '70s.

I'm too well-endowed and not nimble enough to do my bra up at the back. I'm a one of those who do it up at the front and swivel it round. Mum did advice me to bend forward once I'd raised the straps, just to ensure everything was properly seated.
