Okay, I had to come back to promote this series of videos about the problems of rural Canadians.

Those guys make some good points, like that Duck Dynasty
reality show really IS getting way too scripted.

Here in PEI where I am this weekend the term is chips
'with the works' - consisting of a greasy mix of stirfried
hamburger, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, gravy and a bit
of cheese (sort of like Quebecois poutine but with meat, no
cheese curds - just spoons of cheez whiz stirred into the
sloppy-joe mix and maybe - at the fancier chlorestorol
dispensaries - a dollop of mayo).
Newfie style is just gravy and onions with a spoon of mayo
or cream and they often prefer it poured onto mashed potatoes
rather than fries. Peas are optional.

Sasha Grey vs. the NSA.
(I have no idea who Sasha Grey is, and I definitely don't have a shedload of videos with her in them on my hard drive.)

A follow-up to my previous Canadian video post:
Radio you don't see every day -
British-born Iranian-Canadian host of a very popular national (actually, international, as Q is also broadcast throughout the US) daily radio show introduces Pow Wow step group A Tribe Called Red accompanying Oneida hoop dancer Rhonda Doxtator.
Yes. Radio.

Wow. Culture clash or what.
Got me wondering if that carpet
is Iranian or Pakistani.

Aha! anhaga me old trout, I've been meaning to email thee
to ask if native sweetgrass is available as far north as you are.
The very best sweetgrass is the tall Canadian prairie variety.
There's lots in Saskatchewan but because of some tribal/family
arrangement I can only buy that online from California. And it's
already braided; I want bulk.
Canadian prairie sweetgrass is sweeter, taller and holds its
aroma much longer than the shorter Maritime type we find
here in the east (mostly in swampy coastal areas - hard
to get to, very patchy and jealously guarded by locals.)

My sister is shopping for sweetgrass seed.
The local native American suppliers are unwilling to part with any.

It's not sweetgrass, ~ jwf ~, but with the land of sweetgrass and Crowfoot's people uner flood waters right now, this little ditty seems a worthwhile reminder. Mi'kmaq songsmith Willie Dunn's NFB short film of "The Ballad of Crowfoot" (sorta reminds me of Chief Gordon's "Black Day in July"): http://www.nfb.ca/film/ballad_of_crowfoot/
