What can I do for my birthday?
Thatprat - With a new head/wall interface mechanism Started conversation Nov 21, 2006
Sometimes, when I'm due a birthday, I like to do something different to 'celebrate' it. Next year I'll be 35, so I want to do something I've never tried before. Any suggestions will be welcome, but remember there'll be financial constraints, so nothing too exorbitant.

Hmmm.... 'something differnt'.... So that wouldn't be a curry followed by voluminous alcohol consumption? *thinks*
Become an heroine addict for the day?

How about buying one of those gift experiences for yourself, you can do lots of different stuff from go karting to being pampered for the day, bowling or paintballing depends on your budget and what you'd enjoy of course but I'm sure there'd be something you could afford and something that you haven't tried before and it would probably be quite memorable.

Go bungee jumping from a hot air balloon with a prostitute!
What, you did that last time you say? Dammit.

Write a guide entry, and ask the editors to put it up on the Front Page on your birthday. (They might say yes - you never know)

Right, the suggestions so far,
Beer & Curry - Done
Heroin - Done
Go Karting - Done
Bowling - Done
Paintball - Done
White water rafting - Done.
Visiting somewhere - Can't think of anywhere I haven't been that I really want to visit (at the moment).
Hot air baloon - haven't done, might be interesting.
Hire a pro - Did actually consider this, but haven't got the front.
I also considered visiting a Dominatrix to see what they're like.
At the moment, the frontrunner someone's suggested is learn to skydive (v. expensive, but I do have 5 months to save up).
To give you a sample of what I'm like, for my 30th, I decided to get a Prince Albert.

Are you a Tory MP, or something?
Hey, that's an idea - save up the deposit and stand for election somewhere. I'm sure it would be a life-changing experience.

You could try a 'go ape' high wire forest adventure course - go with a group of friends and you'll have a great afternoon/day out.

I celebrated my 35th by getting steaming drunk, snogging 2legs, then getting even more steaming drunk. I'm told I had a good time.

You need to book in advance for the Ice Hotel - and I think it helps if you speak Swedish.
Our Best Man went there on his honeymoon earlier this year and said it was very very good - but then he got one of his Swedish colleagues to ring up and reserve it all for him.
