Is w**king necessary?

I like to w**k hard at my job, whether at home, in the office, or in the field. I find I meet lots of interesting people that way. People appreciate someone who w**ks in a variety of places and in different ways. I think some people envy me that freedom.

Unfortunately it's not w**king that's keeping me from the 'family' thing, it's geographical awkwardness. But that's okay. I'm still young. I can w**k for a few more years before I'm even ready to consider a family.

I must admit that when it comes to matters of "seduction"...there's not a lot that bores me more than someone telling me what a success they are in whichever field they choose to w**k in...I find it a real turn off when people are so cocky about their w**king skills...

How do you feel about people that boast about their w**k output? Not so much skill as sheer volume. Personally I would have to see some of my w**kmates in action to believe their claims.

That's true. It's fine to tell people where you w**k and what you do when w**king, but to go on and on about it is a bit of a bore.

I don't mind about hearing who a person generally w**ks...but when they go into detail...how long it takes...what's involved...results...it just seems like a bit soporific, you know> I mean, I have respect for people who w**k for the greater good, but when they get all weird and pretentious...like all the hours I put in w**king are worthless....it just irks me...

I've been w**king so hard this morning that my wrist is already hurting...and I've only been here two hours!

Well, I've spent the past fortnight with spimcoot and I can honestly say that we have both w**ked very hard indeed. We spent a lot of time going around various places showing people examples of the sort of stuff he can produce and just about everybody thought his w**k was pretty unique; it now remains for them to put their money where their mouth is; each is an original w**k of course and they don't come cheap. No two w**ks are ever the same are they?
The general public just don't realise how much w**king goes into a piece of art; look at Tracey's bed for example.....
The reproduction aspect never came into the issue with the Old Masters did it?

I have to agree with you Terri...sometimes a good w**k is its own reward...but sometimes we need to be rewarded for the long hours we spend w**king on something in particular...

So we can at least say that spimcoot's hard w**k has not been in vain!

It certainly hasn't!
Having been in the priveleged position of watching the master at w**k; I can assure you all that his technique is damn near perfect.
Ah, s, those brush strokes......

It's gotta be something to see a master w**king...espeically someone so good with their hands, and wiht an eye for detail...
...I used to go out with an ...but I just didn't get anything out of his w**k...
Is w**king necessary?
zendevil Posted Aug 27, 2003
Ah, but the trick is not to go OUT with an , but to stay in with them. They tend to produce their best w**ks at home, where they feel more relaxed, w**king in public places attracts attention, but is not always conducive to producing great w**ks of art; sensitive souls aren't they? As you say, skilful with their hands etc, attention to detail, an eye for form....it's quite good fun being a muse.

I tend to know more muso's than s as a general rule, anyway...now they're a joy to watch w**k..and the more people watching, the more they get into it, you know??
The guitarists start doing amazing things with there fingers...the drummers just go for it hammer and tongs...and the bassists are all cavalier and cool about it...but you know they love it...
I've seen some of those guys w**k for hours without stopping, and the fact that they're enjoying it so much just makes it all the more exciting to watch!
Is w**king necessary?
zendevil Posted Aug 27, 2003
Yeah, up till now I've been with muso's too; it's difficult to say whether there is any real difference between the w**k patterns of the visual or audible forms; they are both highly creative is really the only thing you can say.
A w**k of art is just that, it can be looked at, listened to, fondled, the possibilities are endless.
True art is in the eye of the beholder of course.

tanzen Posted Aug 28, 2003
Aye, I agree that musos and s are cut from the same cloth, but they definitely w**k differently...
The s I have known prefer to w**k alone, and totally submerge themselves in the process of w**king...whereas the musos I know are more likely to want people to watch them w**k, and can get very disappointed if there isn't a crowd to watch them w**king...
Is w**king necessary?
zendevil Posted Aug 28, 2003
Hmm, you may well be right there, most muso's are show-offs deep down inside.
Having said that, I have to say that we are w**king in a collaborative way, which is rather satisfying. Even s can occasionally find w**king alone to be a bit lonely!
