Kid Rock ... it's a stupid name for an artist. Brings back memories of New Edition and Musical Youth ...

My colleague came into work the other day and started telling us about the film Valkyrie which she'd seen the night before. Went into enough detail that it basically spoilt the film, and then told us we should go and see it! I had to restrain myself from saying 'What's the point? You've already told me what happens and ruined the ending!'

Elentari Posted Feb 10, 2009
Well yes, I could have guessed how it ended, but it was still annoying. Not the first time she's done this, either.

Did she have any work to do? Or is work just a place that gets in the way of her social life ...

Elentari Posted Feb 10, 2009
She works pretty hard, actually. Doesn't sound like it, I realise, but there you go.

Sure Valkyrire's pretty much the same as Downfall and we all know how WW2 ended, anyways.
Petty hate? Being cold.

I have no problem with telling people not to ruin films for me when it appears they are. Next time of she starts tell her at the out set.

My friends flatmate will go see a film, then come back and say "that was dreadful. Don't go see it." and then proceed to tell you all about it and completely ruin it, utterly oblivious to the fact that you might have different tastes to him. He's been doing it since before he moved in, long before he could maybe predict if she would or wouldn't like a film. She has told him; he tells her too much info, she will kick him in the groin - he now sticks to "terrible. don't go see it"
Petty hate I've just realised: people who think everyone else will inevitably share their opinion.

Upgraded my phone recently, and now get regular texts from the phone manufacturer giving me ‘tips’ on how to use it. They always arrive when I’m at work, which is particularly irritating.
Anyway, these texts come with no instructions as to how to stop them, and you can’t reply to them. So I Googled the problem, and found you have to log into your members account to disable them. Tried that, only to discover my phone doesn’t have an account.
So I now have to create an account with them just so I can disable it again.
How ****ing annoying is that?

Mine for today:
When a singer's singing the kind of song that tells a story, yet gives a long introductory speech explaining the story in the song.
Why bother using lyrics if you think the audience are too stupid to understand them anyway?

The noise of fingers dragging on guitar strings in songs. Poor technique that gets bloody annoying after a while. It's ok occasionally, as a reminder that a real musician is working, but when it's repeated again and again and again
Here's what I mean - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3BnQdF8mvo

Energy company reps who knock on my door and following their introduction, when I say "I don't want to change" ... they reply "I'm not trying to get you to change ... I just want to see if changing supplier will save you money" ...

Cleaning. And knowing deep down in the bottom of my soul that no matter how spotless I make it, that eventually, inevitably, the dirt and filth and germs and gunk will always make their way back....

Knowing I've to:
A: do me laundry (can't be bothered), and
b) tidy my room, which is a godawful mess...

Getting repeated letters from the energy supplier every time I phone them about an account f*** up. It's like they've got no previous knowledge that we're already customers with them.
Me: This is wrong...
Them: We'll get it sorted.
2 days later, a letter saying "thank you for choosing us as your supplier, here's what we can to for you...."

Migraines and all their aftereffects. No, actually, that's not petty.
My housemate expecting me to relay blindingly obvious political warnings to a friend of mine who is perfectly capable of working them out himself and my friendship with whom I do not wish to taint with politics, because the poor guy can't escape the stuff at the moment and I knew him from before and don't care about it. Especially since my housemate is not connected to the politics in questions except through an inability to ignore any politics happening in the same city as him.
Which leads me to: my housemate's minor obsession with the student politics of a university he does not and has never attended!
Key: Complain about this post
