I live happily in an older home with character that defies renovation.
You seem content to live a bit down-market with that rising damp.
They wallow in their squalor.
Keep 'em comin folks!

I fooled myself.
You omitted some information!
They are all a bunch of liars.
***
I lightly mentioned the situation.
You have strongly suggested it's a problem.
They expolded over the crisis!
***
I am trying.
You should not attempt to try it.
Those experts find all others very trying!

I find all these jokes they keep forwarding to me incredibly irritating.
You don't find their jokes in the least bit funny.
They p*ssed themselves laughing, and *knew* that everybody in their address book would really appreciate a copy.

(from the boss's perspective)
I'm totally exhausted and I'm leaving early.
You look a bit fatigued and droopy, so don't stay after hours any longer than you feel you can.
If they would get the lead out, they should be able to have the job done before they leave tonight.

I don't appreciate trespassers.
You're a bit... standoffish...
Look what they did to that bunch of trick-or-treaters!
I believe in the purity of my artistic vision. http://www.annerice.com/sh_MessagesBeach2.htm

You didn't stop to think before rushing in halfcocked.
He lost it big time and went ballistic.

I know better than to surround myself with bad influences.
You're a bit elitist.
She's a pompous snob.
She thinks Lenin was one of the Beatles.
You should brush up on your history.
I'm better at keeping up with current events.
I drive responsibly.
It's okay for you to drive a little over the speed limit, you know.
He uses the brake pedal like a footrest.
I follow traffic rather than the speed limit.
You need to exercise more caution.
Who does that maniac think he is, Mario Andretti?
They're hicks.
You enjoy life in a rural setting.
I'm just like Abraham Lincoln.
I emphasize the "student" part of "student-athlete."
Baseball isn't your favorite sport.
He couldn't hit the ground if it weren't for gravity.

In consideration of those future cyber-archeologists who will one day follow the backlog of this thread in search of our golden wisdoms, I had firmly resolved not to jam it up with constant 'polite' acknowledgements of any newer and better entries.
However, the above load from the good Doctor U has thoroughly overwhelmed my resolve to keep quiet and the cyber-archeologists be damned!
A valiant effort, Doc!

Indeed.
Inspiration for these postings may come from any subject matter,
just so long as we truly exercise the three personal perspectives.
We wouldn't want this thread to become a forum for bi-polar rants of the 'us versus them' variety, now would we?
The point is to balance all three perspectives and in so doing perhaps learn to empathize with other points of view even if in the final analysis we can't actively sympathise with extreme or irrational prejudice and dogma.
There may be only two sides to a coin but the realities of Life, the Uni, et al. are multi-dimensional and in constant flux. They have to be seen in at least three dimensions before making judgements, taking sides or jumping to conclusions.
And never forget:
I am always right.
You have much to learn.
They just don't get it and never will.
