By all means, if he's enjoying it. Must be that mom thing * "Y'all stop that right now!" I think I probably say it in my sleep and just don't realize it.

The only advice I can give: If you're after a quiet vacation-avoid bike week. And before anyone takes offense: Nothing against bikers!!!! But it gets pretty crazy there that week. You want crazy, go then, you want quiet-before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. Except september does have that little high wind problem. And don't forget to drive to Calabash for seafood!!

At Myrtle Beach there's a restaraunt (part of a chain, I think) called Dick's. The full name is "Dick's Last Resort". It's a great place. You *need* to have dinner there one night. I don't want to say much more about it, lest I ruin it for you. Here's a hint: you know how the name of Hooter's has an awful lot to do with the atmosphere of the place? Dick's also has a name/atmosphere correlation, but in a different, unexpected way.
Good food, entertaining surroundings, new people to meet (and you *will* meet new people), Big-Ass Beers, and the service is, well, you'll see...
just trust me on this one, okay?
Their slogan?
"You can't kill a man born to hang!"

I expect to see a full report posted here, of course. It's always fun to get a fresh take on a place like Dick's from someone, erm, "new" to such a dining experience.
