Thanks!! smiley - erm cept the only thing I can say about Charlotte with any authority whatsover at this point is that for some inexplicable reason the traffic is worse than Manhattan...

I found that during my visit there a few years ago, The people were a hundred times nicer than they are in Florida... you could walk down the street in the morning as the sun is rising with a cup of coffee and pass people sitting on their doorstep... they would then greet you with a 'good morning', and a smile... can't do that here smiley - sadface

I haven't tried that yet... I'm not a morning person by nature.. but I have noticed that people are more friendly here..

Where I'm at, you have to drive everywhere. Walking down the street is pretty much right out. No one that nice either.

I do miss being able to just walk wherever I needed. It seems like everything is so far away here... before anything I needed was a few blocks away, or at most a bus/subway ride...

I'd like to be able to do that. It would take a little bit of getting used to. All this driving is making lazy. smiley - tongueout

Hi Evangeline!

It's surprising how quickly you get used to it, Joe. When I moved to NYC I thought the thing that would really make me crazy would be not having my car. By the time I moved here my biggest whine was about having to drive a car again... smiley - bigeyes you don't suppose that just makes me a royal pain in the @$$, do you? smiley - biggrin

Lentilla (Keeper of Non-Sequiturs)

Howdy, folks...

I'm just about to write an article on Big Bend National Park, Texas. If anybody has any good bits they'd like to pass along, they're welcome to! Just spent a week there, and am much refreshed. Hiking, camping, getting away from/back to it all. One thing that amazes me is how good the air smells - around here it smells like dinosaur farts. Out there it's fresh and clean - the creosote and the blooming flowers...
