Any kind of mail! I don't mind!
Hi kiddies! all around!
I'm sorry I've been so negligent. I've gotten wrapped up in so many things, and all of my old friends have been stopping by!
We're fine here. I could use a bit of sunshine and warmth, though! So how are things with everybody?
There, that should cover it!

It's just great to hear from you, Shea, and know you're okay.
What kind of would you like? I've had lots of practice making calzones, and now I'm ready to branch out.

Ooo! Sounds tasty! I'm a plain kinda gal, so just potatoes and some seasoning should do it for me.
How are you, Paul? You guys have been walloped with a lot of snow this year!

Yes, we have, but it's been quiet on the snow front lately.
The news reports say that most of the rest of the country is getting pummelled by storms now, so they'll eventually work their way to us.

You seem to be a Massachusetts Magnet for snow!
We haven't had a lot of snow ... usually a dusting on the ground, but not too bad. I'm sure that's because I've been working from home. I'll have a job outside the home next winter, and I'm sure it'll be a record-breaking snow year!

You could sell your fireplace to Beowulf, so he can frolic with Grendel's beautiful, Angelina Joliesque mother.

Hey Shea.
Great to see you pop in. Apparently the internet is much slower from Ohio than NY.
It snowed all day outside my office, except it was man-made snow. Detroit holds a big Winter Blast downtown http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080128/NEWS01/80128080/0/SPORTS06 and if there isn't snow they make it. We had six inches of snow on the weekend, melted Monday when it was 55* now on Wednesday it's -9* windchill and we have to make fake snow. Madness, madness I say! (or Michigan)
Well off to see if you wrote a journal entry to catch up on what's new.
Thanks for the up there, here's some back atcha

My library used to have a book called "We almost lost Detroit."
Ironically, we've lost the book itself, but Detroit has been found, at least until the snow completely buries it, like New York in "The Day SAfter Tomorrow."

i remember the song 'we almost lost detroit' from the 'no nukes'-concert in new york some years ago. i have a double-cd with the concert and am very fond of it

Good for you, Pierce.
I will not mention (except to mention that I'm not mentioning it) that there are undoubtedly some who wanted detroit to *stay* lost.

we have similar situations like that here also
for example i am constantly fighting our local authorities about tourism: they want to attract more tourists, but i want my peace and quiet. hey, that's why i moved here in the first place

Maybe you could move Elsinore Castle across the sound into that other country, so Hamlet fans won't bother you any more.
Likewise with Grendel's cave....
All very simple to solve.

I'm too lazy for that. Yellowstone is going to blow as a megavolcano within 600,000 years, and that's soon enough.
