It really can only be a matter of time before someone manages to assassinate him. I'd guess though that it will be very rare for anyone near him to carry a loaded weapon, a blade or anything pointy.

Of course, it would probably be the last thing they ever did.

The Guardian today, 6 pages about Prince Charles lobbying politicians! The Guardian costs £1.80! (I'm tempted to say a princely sum but I'd never make such a bad joke.) Anyways I was listening to Radio Newcastle today listening to the phone in when this wonderful Geordie came on, (I'm a Geordie myself by the way) and says, 'Whats aall the fuss aboot, wer're taakin aboot a blurk who Taaks tae cabbages!'

Fishermen catch large conger eel:

Apparently this photo is deceptive, and the fish is only 7 ft long. Proof, if it were needed, that Munchkins are alive and well in Plymouth.

Ah... Every angler knows when taking pictures of your catch you hold the fish with your arm outstretched toward the camera to make it look larger. This is the same technique just done on a larger scale. Teh fish is much closer than dock workers behind it.

Ireland votes for same-sex marriage, but not everyone agrees it's a good thing.

“I was very saddened by this result,” said Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state, according to the Vatican Radio website. “I don’t think we can speak only about a defeat for Christian principles, but a defeat for humanity.”
A "defeat for humanity"? I think the Catholic Church need to relearn the meaning of the word.

I saw my first live badger only two months ago. Walking the dog around midnight, a badger was lurking in a laneway off our (moderately busy) street. It shuffled away in no tearing hurry. I was glad my dog was on a lead.

I went on a badger watch last week at Tewin Orchard (Googlable).
We saw 10 or so snuffling about cutely.
I didn't see them threatening any cows.
