The USAPATRIOT act was a massive overreach. It was a series of conservative "tough on crime" measures they couldn't get through until 9/11. With a nation in panic, they rushed it through. But it was meant to be a temporary measure and should expire.

While we are all shaking our heads at the scandal and corruption at FIFA, the NHS has a debt of £800 plus MILLION owed solely to agency firms whose bosses are of course leading millionaire lifestyles, well they would, they're millionaires courtesy of the scandalous mismanagement of the NHS budget, some agency doctors cost £3 grand plus a shift!!!! This news story has had my attention for more than a decade. We've now had two administrations, several congresses, and a complicit "Fourth Estate" create, excuse, obfuscate, overlook, enable, condone and generally ignore a US torture program.

For the most part, the American public doesn't even care.


One of my two Senators, the now less than honorable John Cornyn, voted against this bill. I will be writing him, expressing my thorough contempt of his doing so. I expect nothing more than a form letter thanking me for contacting his office and a few platitudes about how he values the opinions of his constituents as he ignores them, as usual.
