Indeed, and we thought only the Muslims had that mindset...

No, it's not a Muslim, Christian, Western or whatever thing... it's a male thing. Makes me want to appologize for that Y-chromosome I happen to carry around with me.

"Margaret Thatcher insisted on spending almost £2,000 on a desert search to find her missing son, rather than using public cash, newly-released files show."

Compare that with the thieving, grasping and fiddling nature of the current crop of politicians.

The reason for that is her husband was incredibly rich.

" did not take the salary she was entitled to as Prime Minister and instead drew the salary of an ordinary cabinet Minister.
Recently I was talking to her about the current debate on Member´s allowances and I asked her why she had not taken her full salary as PM. I knew the answer. "We didn´t need it. DT had done well and our outgoings were not that great. We lived above the shop and worked and worked and worked. And in any case it was taxpayers' hard-earned money." The last four words were given particular force. Perhaps another example of a part of ´Thatcherism´ that could do with copying by today´s politicians?"
The problem is she then went on to screw the whole country by changing it so that the rich could get richer.
I would rather have a PM who had to draw the full salary.

It's come to light that Thatcher intended to destroy the welfare state.

So a proposal that was briefly discussed, instantly rejected and which Thatcher described as "nonsense" becomes an intention to destroy the welfare state?

There were the usual stunning displays of fireworks
last night at midnight from Sidney and Hong Kong which
involve whole swaths of the skyline. But Taipei, Taiwan
gave an especially dazzling show from one venue, the
whirled's second tallest building.
There are dozens of Utoobs of it giving various views,
some better than others, some show the building being
swallowed up in slightly unfocused smoke and flame that
reminds one of V2 rockets exploding on a launch pad.
But this is my fave because it shows the detail up a
bit closer and a few wider shots that demonstrate the
effort and finesse that went into it.

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2013/01/02/us-transgender-man-faces-difficulty-in-getting-divorced-from-wife/
A man can't get divorced because he was born a woman and the place he lives doesn't recognise his legal sex change, making his marriage one between two women. Arizona has banned same sex marriages and if they can't have same sex marriages, they can't have same sex divorces either.
Laws are weird.

Teenager arguing against having to wear an electronic tag in her school (used for tracking attendance) on religious grounds
I'm worried that it's permitted at all, I don't know US law that well, but surely it can't be allowed under their law
I would hope so at least
What news story etc etc
Alfster Posted Jan 9, 2013
I'm just amazed that the tag case infers that if she wasn't a religious in that sort of way she would be OK with being tracked.
Presumably, if she's lost her appeal than it is allowable under US law.

Nosebagbadger {Ace} Posted Jan 9, 2013
I agree exactly with your amazement
I'm not sure whether the court would rule on the whole legality of it, or just the aspect on which the challenge was based
Surely someone would have challenged its use on personal liberty first
What news story etc etc
Alfster Posted Jan 9, 2013
Well, one would assume that however as she made the claim based on THE SIGN OF THE BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then actually putting in a bit of rational thought probably did not enter into the equation.
We aren;t exactly talking about a real world complaint and as the US legal system is secular in nature then it would be thrown out as being ball hooks.

I didn't say She would be the one doing the expected challenging, i just hope there would be one person in the school who didn't want to be tagged and was sensible
