I'd stick with 'group' until I get anything better. 'Battery' seems quite accurate, seeing how you get a machine-gun spray of answers to any question.

Yup. And it's got a nice kind of sound to it: "A drift of Researchers", a bit like "a murder of crows"

I like drift, it's got an accumulation feel to it. My first thought was an ignorance, as we never seem to quite know the right answer, but get there somehow.
