This reminded me of Neil, a friend of mine who tried to offer someone a lift home saying:
"Don't worry that I am too drunk to stand up, you sit down when you are driving"
I should add that he served 3 months for drunk driving shortly after... Some men you just can't help.

Oh, I'd have helped Neil if I could. The line I was groping for there was 'Some men you jest cain't reach' which appears at the beginning of Civil War by GnR, but which comes from a movie, possibly Cool Hand Luke.
