Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

It's so easy to get disheartened when you're piece is being ignored in peer review. I remember my first attempt at writing a guide to bars in Birmingham staying in Peer review for weeks when there was nothing much wrong with it. Well apart from my spelling.

Well, if you care to take a look here, A773723, you can check out the edited version before I send it back to the editors for the final polish before it hits the Guide.
Sorry about the delay - I was given 4 new entries to edit rather quickly after my last lot and just when I was in the middle of redoing my kitchen.

Thanks mate, but I found a typo. Their should be a period after "Cabnit."

Hey, I have a question... if I want to add something after its been edited, what do I do?
Congratulations - Your Entry has been Picked for the Edited Guide!
shazzPRME Posted Jul 13, 2002
OK... added fullstop after cabnit.
Oooh... just found another example!
What did you have in mind? I can add something now if you have it ready!

Here goes:
Address the audience in your greetings.
Call them "mate," even if you do not wish to mate with them, "luv," even if you do not love them, or "guv'nor," even if they are not an ellected official.

...which, once you've addressed them more than 2ce, can be abridged to 'Guv'.

shazzPRME Posted Jul 14, 2002
Is this as well as or instead of point 11 where you also mention the word 'mate'? Perhaps you would like to reword this entire paragraph to incorporate the new idea, rather than doubling up?
And shall I add - 'fullstop' instead of period - to section 4 while I'm at it?

Jimmy "The Fish" O'Conner Posted Jul 14, 2002
Yeah, I meant to have that instead of the mate bit.

Jimmy "The Fish" O'Conner Posted Jul 14, 2002
I dont see where one would be needed in section 4. Maybe an error beyond my powers of perception, but could you point it out for me?

shazzPRME Posted Jul 14, 2002
... sorry, we are talking at cross-purposes here...
I meant would you like that adding as another example... us English use the word 'fullstop' and the quickest way to spot a US person is if they say 'period' instead
As editor of The Post I know this only too well
I will replace the other bit as per your request
