"WHat age do you think i am."
I've got you down for about 12, perhaps even 13 at a stretch.
"Could you explain easier, like was it good?"
I've re-evaluated from my earlier guess and now think ten years old with very good IT skills is about right.

Not that we want to discourage younger researchers or those with less computer experience from participating.

Omega is a big series figure, but i wanted to put him into a period setting, and I liked Perivale. i like that Avengers-type thing of dark James Bond villain-agents who can be killed by being close to bright colour, and i wanted Andy Warhol's prints to be in it as something 60s. Len is not Len from Survival, altohugh they may as well be related. Shreela and Midge's parents would've appeared, but i felt that i'd have to explain indian migration. The Asimov play is a nod to Out of the Unknown sci-fi anthologies, and Hawley is a dig at late 80s celbrity appearances. I wanted to do a slight, but not outright Remembracne of the Dalek sequel, without Daleks and the army or UNIT, because they overshadow the mundaneness of reality.

Actually, i could sort of understand what you meant, Gif. i know i have flaws, but i did not really read Joyce. I prefer Ray Bradbury and Terry Pratchett, and Douglas Adams, and Arthur C Clarke. Thanks, I really like to develop characters. I always thought Ace had more of a darker side than Rose, who i hate. I like Martha and Donna. I'm old enough to remember Pertwee and Tom Baker, (well they were my first Doctors), but through repeats.

You've definately referenced and drawn on a lot of influences there. If I'm honest, that threw me a bit coz I didn't get them all.

I'm really cr@p at explaining stuff like gif, and I didn't really understand what he meant, though I'm pretty sure I agree with him, because I thought your story was awesome.

I have a new story for part one

the second address is the second part, and tell me how you like it? I wanted it to be light-hearted, hitchhhiker's guide to the galaxy style.

In all seriousness, the ideas are quite interesting. It just needs to be written as more than a series of explanatory lines.

Don't listen to him U... They are beautifully constructed in *all* ways.
(Aren't you being a tad dualist there, Zagreb, with your separation of style and content? The artist in me says you are.)
Dr Who
BouncyBitInTheMiddle Posted Aug 24, 2008
Is judging something according to two categories automatically dualist? I'd say no: it doesn't imply that there are two separate parts, but rather two methods of description. It also leaves us in a tangle over what word to use should we move to three or more categories.

Looks like a good story. Can I make one suggestion?? You have the aliens, the Malessans. They seem to be aliens the Doc's met before, but I'm not familiar with them. Maybe put in a quick line about how the Doc knows them?
Dr Who

I've made them Time Lord allies, but I'd like to think that Hartnell's Doctor and Susan might've lived there. It seems a place that the Doctor would've spent his holidays. Perhaps he put a reminder in the TARDIS, which the Master used to influence Adric, when making Castrovalva. Using the same principles, but different culture, Castrovalva was made. Centuries later (in Doctor terms- he may have spent a lot of time with Ace, since my stories are post-Survival), the TARDIS had been changed, and altohugh the Doctor remembers Malessa, he only relives the joy of being therem by deciding to start the evolution.

Would it make me a bad person if I suggested that there should be a separate thread for any hootoo Dr Who fanfic?

you mean like alternate continuity. Yes, actually. I may as well put Adric in as a reluctant schoolteacher from Iceland. There's even an encounter in my next story (The Time-Travellers) with Ace and H2G2's own Trillian.

No... I mean like this:-

A whole thread for posting your stories, and therefore this thread can be a general discussion thread again...
Sound like a good idea?

It wasn't bad, but not good either. Had the old theme, and a runnuing little tentacled-hair thing called a Graske from Sarah Jane and Attack of the Graske game on BBC website.

I get the feeling it would have been better viewed as part of the Proms if you see what I mean. Only saw it on youtube a while later and there seemed to be some interactive bits.
