Think the "Kliks" were actually distance. Thought it was time myself too, but think the pilot bloke or someone said something about the detour taking them an extra x-number of kliks. Easily missed though.
Have to say one of my first thoughts was "there's something on the wing!!"

yeah.
I thought it was quite good but the 20 mins later... type stuff seemed a bit unusual I think it disrupted the flow a bit

Pegasus - Neither bird nor plane Posted Jun 15, 2008
I have to say, I liked that episode a lot! Parts of it were terrifying and I thought the acting was brilliant. Plus, as has been said before, seeing the darker side of humans worked really well.
Just been reading about the twelfth episode on the BBC Dr Who site - it sounds quite good!

Yeah, think that worked well with everyone turning on Sky and then the Doc. And if they'd have been able to simply go somewhere else, it wouldn't have worked either.

Having the alien eerie thing taking the form of copying what people say is *really* pandering to the playground. Kids do *not* need encouraging to do that
Really enjoyed seeing that the monsters the Doctor can't actually handle are humans

Maybe it was the influence of the monster? Making them scared and talk more so it could feed off the fear, learn the voices and suss out who was the smartest.

Traveller in Time ignoring the classic retrofits
"The entertainment system came back online for a short moment after the drivers compartiment was removed. It continued with the song the Doctor had made it shut up with, then the sound went off and rose came into view mimicing the words 'Doctor! Doctor!' with a very serious look in her eyes.
Professor: *For the last time: nothing can live on the surface of midnight!*
The Doctor: *Professor, I am glad you have got an absolute definition of life in the universe, but perhaps the universe got some ideas of its own.*
Think it is a brilliant reply. Well, perhaps suggesting the universe is sentient "

Having watched the Confidential I'm even more impressed. I really thought they would have used some kind of camera trickery to get all the copying and simultaneous speaking done.
"Plus, as has been said before, seeing the darker side of humans worked really well."
Yes, it was greatly done. The characters (especially the couple) are the sort of irrational people we meet on a 'regular' basis. People who twist things and won't accept anyone else's viewpoint. Met more than a few of those at work (and socially) along the way. Touched a nerve for me ...

I've watched it again and still am not impressed. I can see what they were trying to do, and some bits were great (quite chilling in places!) but the whole thing loses any gravitas it may have had when it's filmed on a set that looks like someone's lined up a few chairs in their garage.
Still, this criticism is in the context of Dr Who, and even the bad ones are better than most stuff out there (apart from BSG, which keeps getting better and better and better and better and better...)

It was a tourist bus. It looked a bit like every tourist bus I've ever been on!

Traveller in Time occasional in a tourist bus
"I would start getting a little concerned whan a shielding and barriers are placed. Tourist busses are to have a look around not to have a look inside. "

"Tourist busses are to have a look around not to have a look inside."
How many tourist buses have you been on near extonic suns?
Truth is, it would have been even less scary (not that I was particularly scared) if this was all occurring in a nice, pleasant landscape.
(I actually thought originally that perhaps it was all going to be a con and that the bus was just simulating motion. That ended when The Doctor went for a look out of the cabin with the driver and mechanic)

I thought it started off very slowly - to the point where I was getting tempted to switch and see what else was on, but once it hit its stride it was really rather excellent.
The limited space worked really well, really ramped up the tension, and the baddie was genuinely spooky. That's two scary baddies in two stories.
I agree with everyone else, seeing the Doctor powerless was really unsettling.
As for next week... let's just say that anyone who disturbs me next Saturday evening will be punished.

Watched it again, still not impressed. Just us then Roy. It would have been a lot better if the lights never came back on and the whole show had been done in the dark from there on in. Would have fitted in nicely with the whole darkness story arc too. New Doctor Who is just too... shiny.

Ooh, there was some comment about the dark... I'll have to watch it again!
What's with the Medusa Cascade? Rings bells.

For me, the stand-out episode of the entire season so far, NO CONTEST. Absolutely brilliant! The tension gripped me like a vice from the moment they closed the front window. The people were suitably dumb; it wouldn't have worked if they were cool and collected all the way through. I loved the way the Doctor would shame them into agreeing with him for a few seconds (when he would have run off and left them to it ordinarily) but one person always resisted, allowing the others to ignore him as well.
Seeing the Doctor weakened like that was really affecting, too. In fact, I thought it was much more effective than the last season finale when they did it all with prosthetics and CGI, and left him just looking outlandish.
