Try the video Heloulou - I got that to play (outside the UK) without a hitch. Am working on getting the audio file to play.

Can I just check something here...
On http://www.abovethetitle.com/content/programmes/hitchhikers/hitchhikers.html
it says...
"LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING will be broadcast on..."
then...
"ABOVE THE TITLE PRODUCTIONS beat their rivals to complete the Hitchhiker series on BBC Radio 4. They will dramatise the last three books"
and finally...
"As the second series is cast the names of the actors will appear here, allowing you to track the casting process in real time. "
Now, correct me if I'm wrong... but does this mean that we're getting not just one series of six shows (LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING), but we'll then be getting a further TWO ADDITIONAL SERIES later on (So long & thanks... and Mostly Harmless)

I think I heard that the last two books (SL&TFATF and MH) will together form one series of eight episodes length.

Well spotted, Whisky...
Although the Radio 4 site seems to imply the last three books were condensed into two series, the following comes from the "Above the Title" pages:
"The *three* new series will include several actors connected with the Hitchhiker's Guide from its other incarnations, both on stage and television, as well as other famous names..." (my emphasis...)

Hi Peet,
I think you're perhaps misunderstanding the way a corporation like the BBC works.
There is no one department who make sure that announcements are made right across every site. Radio 4 made their own announcement - that's all they're responsible for. BBC Cult made their own announcement too, based on the R4 press release and, when we found the time, we announced it too. It would not have been appropriate for Radio 4 to announce anything on h2g2 without going through us first. We made the announcement the first chance we had, which was admitedly a couple of hours later than we'd have liked.
I should also point out that while the HHGTTG site is static, the Cult site is not. It has regular updates that might be of interest to anyone who likes Douglas's work (assuming that if you like the science fiction elements of Douglas's radio series and books, you might also like things like Doctor Who).
So, in short, the BBC - ie us - *did* announce this.
Doesn't that make you happy

You mean the BBC actually Works?
I thought it just sort of bimbled along, stumbling from one decision to another and generally looking confuzeled!

Assuming you mean BBC Radio 4 (not BBC FOUR, which is a television station), live streaming audio can be found at:
