Okay, when I made the post about me surrounding Uli, that was an attempt at snatching away the Polar Bear totem before I posessed poor Martens. Was it succesful?

Also, how am I supposed to battle Uli? Am I able to use things like Fireballs and Spells?

I don't think you were successful at snatching the totem - she had it clasped in her hand.

As for fighting, I think on that plane, it is only magical powers that would have any effect. The point is mostlly moot, now that you have gained possession, but it could come up again if you ever lose THIS body. Lil had also asked about how fighting would work and here is what I posted to her:

The whole Astral Plane is something that wasn't originally envisioned by Mac, so I have license here to improvise. I think that being the bear (or using the fireball) on that Plane doesn't give you any advantage, since the attacks you launch will be magical, rather than some semblance of physical. I'll handle any battle between you and Yclept on the Astral Plane just like I would handle a combat on the physical plane. I roll dice to see if your attack connects, then the damage done is dependant on your strength (physical strength on that plane, magical strength on the astral plane), modified by the weapon used (on the physical plane, extra damage is done if you attack with, say, a knife, instead of your hands) On the Astral plane, I will assign appropriate magical strengths to the both of you, and appropriate total endurance points from which damage points are subtracted (until you have none left and are dead). There isn't really any sort of weapon that can modify the "hit" points of a magical attack. At least I can't think of any just now, but I would be open to suggestions.

Okay, that'll work. Now, about posessing Martens: do I just post to him to tell him what to do?

I see you have already seen the answer to that in the "whispers" thread. smiley - biggrin

Yes, that I have. I don't suppose that I've got the chainsaw with me, do I? I think I do, but I want to verify that fact.

Yes you do. Martens has it in his hand. smiley - biggrin

I suppose we should switch to the Martens private thread now, eh?

Well, maybe not that far, I'll admit.

I just wish that I could read everyone's files. So many things make more sense now that I've read Martens'.

Nice that you get access to his memories, eh? It will be fun for everyone at the end to read everyone else's private threads. It will be interesting for me to be able to ask Mac about how certain things went in other playings of the game. (Such as whether Yclept has had 2 bodies before - I suspect so, but it would be fun to hear about it.)

Yeah, Yclept's probably had to use two forms. This time, however, I'm going to attempt to use healing spells when someone gets a lucky hit in.smiley - winkeye

Good plan. You might also switch your shields around more, although your magic shield did save you from a few blows that otherwise might have injured you. (Of course you wouldn't know that. smiley - winkeye)
