h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*At the same time as this, the cyber-beast lunges*
[Razor]: "Oh great, two at once... and here come the viroids."

*Suddenly it seems to be getting very crowded*

*the blur shots past Razor and rams into the viroid with enough force to send it back flying along the ground sending up sparks. In place of the blur was a small brown dragon-like creature hovering above the ground. It turns around and stares at Razor.*
[Creature]: Hurry up before it gets up!</>

: Excellent.
[Razor]: <<>>

*The Cyber Beast appears to be lumbering in front of a silver ball.*

*Razor makes a rushing leap with a flip to it, to land behind the cyber-beast*

The silver-ball is floating above some sort of round and chromed-looking railings.

*As Razor grabs the ball with both hands, his "body" gets flooded by a stream of sounds, files and images*
Data... data everywhere.

*He struggles to think straight*

*the dragon creature attacks the cyber beast like a ram sending it flopping along the ground and hovers facing it.*

*The Cyber-beast snarls,- it's clawed feet digging into the similated ground.*

Zeroes and ones in lime-green seem to be coursing across the teeth of its open mouth as it roars...

*The creature does a head on attack with the cyber-beast with it's newly showing beam claws*

Very welcome. Nothing was happening on the other end. And one thing to mention, the small dragon-like creature is about the length from your upraised thumb of your extended arm to your nose.*

: Ah. An interesting detail that. Wouldn't want to oversight it.

*Razor does a data-dump on what he'd seen and found out about the virus by connecting a smallish bit of a "key" (in this case a small-rectangular boxlike affair) retrieved from the sphere itself to his saber. Then he removes the saber and plugs the key into an appropriately designated slot.*

"That ought to even the odds a little. Now that the system itself has been alerted (I hope)."

*The creature flies up to Razor and lands on his shoulder. He uses his tail to support himself by wrapping it gently around Razor's neck*

[Razor Ecg]: " little guy, what'sit you want? Did you exist before, or were you just called up recently? It's okay if you don't know, but it would help me out a little."

*scanning*

*the creature stares at him with a suprisingly mocking expression*
[Creature]: Actually I am a living creature biologicly engineered to do maintainance and repair on modern computer programs. I am currently inside the this on, being that the original owners forgot me in there. How's that for a life story?</>

[Razor]: <<>>

*Throughout the grid-area there are more groups of viroids showing up, but they seem to be getting routed by 'defender' looking simple & stream-lined antivirus units.*

The background itself appears to be changing, but it is shifting back and forth,- an unsteady grip still in control over the system.

*Creature looks around*
Do you know if we are in the main computer or not?</>

[Razor]: "I'm no expert at this, but I know that the silver thing is a core-area. There very well may be more than one. It's a decent sized freighter, and this ship probably has a few integrated systems that are otherwise not readily noticeable. It's changed the hands of several owners throughout its lifetime."

*He speculates further*

"Why,- some of the parts were salvaged off of space wrecks and used off of other ships. It is a possibility."

[Razor]: "I'm no expert at this, but I know that the silver thing is a core-area. There very well may be more than one. It's a decent sized freighter, and this ship probably has a few integrated systems that are otherwise not readily noticeable. It's changed the hands of several owners throughout its lifetime."

*He speculates further*

: That's funny. Paying a bit of homage to an old Saturday morning Television cartoon like Reboot, and then there being a bit of a glitch. Inside joke for people who have seen it before. How ironic.

*It just now becomes apparent that there is a rather pomp & silly looking graphic of a robot holding up an unfolded map in one hand and scrathing its head with one finger to the other... towards the center of the maze, now that the walls are lowering themselves to be shorter.*

"That thing over there is for directions."
