Well alright then! Methinks I'll go have a look around.
That there torpedo, by the way, could be a bad thing.

I've been doing some reading about pirates.
Pirate captains were often elected by their crews.
Quartermasters were often the real seat of power
on pirate ships.
I wonder who the quartermaster is on this ship?

That would probably be me then, since I am in charge more often then Capt. Pierce, and I am still able to deleniate powers.
Firts Mate Plato, tell me about this Christmas Isle that I have heard so little about. Is it like Easter Island?

Hmmmmm...As far as I know...
Christmas island lies in the indian ocean, south of the western tip of Java. It's just a big Plateau 300 m above sea level. It's under the rule of Australia, and looks a little like a dog if you tilt your head slightly.

And why are we going there?
The Captains Private Quarters (sign up here!)
paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant Posted Aug 15, 2001
To get a Christmas tree?
To see Santa Claus?
To mail some letters so they'll be postmarked "Christmas Island?"
To fetch poinsettias?
So we can say we've been there?
So we can deduct it from our taxes as a holiday expense?

Right...
Well, we already have a First Mate (Me)

Ahoy and all that
Floh and BigCat, I hope/believe someone else is taking (or even has already taken) care of that torpedo?
Paul H, we already had an election: All in favour of me stayed on board, all against left - via the plank
We are going to Christmas Island by special request of Amy The Ant, ship- and portrait painter extraordinaire. There is a lot of crab meet there, fair weather - and no taxes
Wandawoman, assume any position you want - other than the figurehead's

Ahoy Captain - I wondered if I could have a quiet word?
It has been suggested that we have a party in the Lighthouse Bar next Monday, a sort of Birthday bash thing! Would you be able to come? We would love to see you there and it would really make my day There are a few non crew members who also have birthdays that day - will we be in dock that day or already at sea as it might be a good opportunity to invite them over and well, do what ever we want to them! What are the ship rules on that sort of thing?
Even if you are not able to drop by next Monday do drop by the bar soon we dont see nearly enough of you there

Ahoy there cap'n !!
got a spare bunk for an old sea-dog?
I could be a jack of all trades, experienced at stacking balls on brass monkeys.
Also done a bit o' friggin' in the riggin' on the good ship "Venus". I can also check the water depths for ye, as everyone says i'm good at swinging the lead.
My kitbags packed and i'm ready for cast-off.
cheers Ecky.
