smiley - applause for the Atelier Poet Laureate.

Now what did I find in the backlog...

First snog - that would have been a dark corner of a school disco aged around 14, he was 2 years ahead of me and hence Cool. But nothing whatever to talk about so that was that.

Best party - several good candidates. Probably one of the excellent cellar parties in a shared house in Brum. Or possibly the gliding club do with the Bavarian Oompah band and much dancing on tables.

Stair parties - well I do have an open plan staircase overlooking the kitchen where people tend to sit and chat, but we don't really do much in the way of entertaining. Maybe this year is the year we finally do some sorting out, decorating and furnishing and get the place in a suitable state to invite people round.

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

Talking, as some of us were, about meeting people we've not seen for years...

I've had two MSN messages today from a former friend. She kicked her husband out of the family home just before Christmas two years ago to go cavorting with another bloke she'd 'met' on World of Warcraft. Poor hubby had to resort to a homeless hostel for a few months (nobody could visit him - against the rules- and he didn't have transport of his own to enable visiting his friends as it was too far away) before being offered (very nice, as it turns out) social housing on a very respectable estate. (More power to his elbow). His children went to school locally and were able to come for tea and at weekends. A few months later his (nearly) Ex-wife took the children to other side of the country with said cohort - he's seen them rarely since then. smiley - sadface

Today - out of the blue - I receive two messages 'hi' and 'how are you all?' The Birch in me wants to say, 'and why the smiley - bleep are you asking?' Me is wondering whether it's all gone smiley - titsmiley - tit up. I'm rather hoping that it has, does that make me a bad person? smiley - silly

I don't know what I'd do in that circumstance, Mags. MSN messages are very easy to ignore, though...

Today, I discovered that one of the shows I'm doing in March (When Midnight Strikes) will now be two performances instead of one. In addition, it will be attended by various theatre managers from the wider area, the man who directed the show's first production, and scariest of all, the composer. smiley - yikessmiley - yikessmiley - yikes

That's probably the best advice, but I'd want to know what was up too.

HA. I clearly spoke too soon when I bragged about New Job as we have scheduling problems, otherwise known as two bank holidays which means they can't shift the course to the days I can do. Ah well. At least now I don;t have to run around looking for daycare for the Star.

Indeed. "Hello, Mr Miller. I love your song. Hope I didn't murder it. Why, yes, you are quite right to observe that I have no training whatsoever..."

Actually, I suspect that if we do get introduced I would mumble incoherently, or possibly gibber in a fanboyish way. I think mumbling would be preferable.

I am quite sure that should you meet Mr Miller would be busy complementing you and that's why you would be mubling incohenrently. And, I hope, blushing.

Man oh man, David. What an opportunity smiley - biggrin

From the youtube links you've posted I'd say you'll have no trouble.

An extra night? The composer? High renown indeed. Bask in the glory.
