Raining and windy, don't bother, declare a duvet day.

I should have mentioned that the party I referred to was a long time ago, I think I was 22. As I've gotten older, I don't think I would have liked that party.

Today was interesting, it started with tornado warnings for Long Beach, which have yet to materialize, thank BoB. Overnight, the garden behind my apt was transformed into a pool. I'm hoping this won't raise the rent...

A beach that fails to materialize?



Overcast, with dark grey clouds, comes from being too close to thawing point for comfort. And it snowed a bit while I was waiting for the bus, and the snow plows were out again. The piles now reach over the top of my head.

I was reminded of the words of a Swedish writer who, to describe how very quiet people can be at times, used the expression 'quiet as a bunch of Finnish lumberjacks'. Try my bus in the mornings - the *only* sound that broke the silence today was someone receiving a SMS. Twice. The rest of us dozed in some kind of semi-coma.

Tis raining here in Norn Irn. What a surprise!

It was bin day today, and as usual, the kitchen bin was over-flowing cos there was no room in the outside bin, and so I'd left on the counter an empty milk carton. When I came back downstairs after my shower, Max had ripped the carton to shreds all over the floor

I shall wrap up warm and take him for a walk now. Then I've a meeting in Dublin, which gives me a couple of hours on the train to play with my new iPhone.

One more day at the office this week then a couple of days off to serve cider at the Winter Ales Festival. Apparently non-apple based drinks will also be available but you'll have to ask Phil about those.

Yes there will be non apple based drinks available. Though how many (very lots) and what sorts (many styles), I don't you know as I've only stepped onto the train to take me there. Should be fun, hard work but fun

Drove to Embra and back yesterday

I'm at Z's today because I need to go to Debenhams to buy what the Germans don't but should call a booblehof. I've lost enough weight that my current one really doesn't fit any more, and I'm not going to Bravissimo for temporary ones.

Worth looking to see if they have anything in your size in the sale Ben - might not be in your favourite colours but at least they should be a good fit. Ditto figleaves.

Enjoy the new toy Beatrice - I can't justify getting one (because the one I have is fine, was free, and is unbelievably cheap thanks to being on J's company's corporate rate. But I WANT one.

Bins - ours have just been collected for the first time since 28th December and given that we are a family of four, with two currently in nappies, and we *still* had lots of room left in there - I can't help but wonder how some of the neighbours managed to get theirs overflowing by several additional bags. We did have an extra box of recyclables though, so I wonder if they just don't separate their rubbish.

*nips back in and removes the orphan bracket*

Our bins were still emptied regularly over the silly season thank the heavens. they just arent big enough with 7 of us in the house, and they get emptied every alternate friday. so when the recycle is getting emptied, the normal bin is nearly full and vice versa - nightmare!

Mine was full cos it contained Max's old bed that he had ripped to shreds
