Well, yeah, our backlog seems to be breeding even faster than stuff in rooms. Or wirehangers, for that matter...

Do you suppose they chose Moscow for alliterative reasons - rather than geographical correctness?

>> I am firm in my opinion regarding firearms ownership.
I finally understood the purpose of the 2nd Amendment while reading Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire back in college. I still have a lot of qualms about gun ownership, and I can't imagine purchasing one for myself, but I agree with you that the right to bare arms is as essential to the Constitution as the right to speak freely, practice religion without government interference, gather peaceably, and the rest of the Bill of Rights. I can rest peacefully in my bed knowing that our government is fully aware that it's citizenship is prepared to return fire in the face of tyranny.
Also, my brother just purchased a handgun that he swears up and down was made entirely from recycled car parts, here in the US. I like to pretend it's also produced with union labor, though I've got not evidence one way or the other on that.
I must see pictures of y'all in your tuxes. Pictures of the tuxes *and* firearms is not necessary, though it will earn you extra Bond points.

The weather is supposed to be very nice for the wedding.
>>and no unexpected suprises befall you!
Wouldn't be much of a surprise if we expected it!

There will be pics posted, most likely on facebook, as soon as possible.

Wishing you the best of everything tomorrow, GDZ.
There are firearms and then there are firearms. I would be vehemently opposed to an outright ban. I have no objections to weapons used for hunting. I can live with private ownership of handguns. But I really don't understand why anyone needs grenade launchers and other weapons that I think of in a military context. Automatic weapons that will mow down an entire room of people in a few seconds. Having said that, I do realize that there are collectors who buy such things with no intent of ever using them. Since I live alone, I am seriously considering taking a training course and buying a handgun. I'm one of the few people I know without a gun in the house. I know that probably sounds strange to the UK salonistas, but that's just the way it is here. One of the things my dad made sure he taught me was to shoot a shotgun and rifle. But I've never shot a handgun.

This UK Salonista certainly does find the idea of personal gun ownership strange. I suppose it's a case of what one's accustomed
to.
Of course, our national weapons are sarcasm and irony

>the right to bare arms is as essential to the Constitution
Does that mean that the Constitution frowns on long sleeved shirts?

I agree with Irv and Hypatia. Nothing in recent times has disgusted me more than hearing a gun lobbyist describe an AK-47 as a "sport utility weapon". Could you name the sport please?? But I too really ought to get a handgun and learn to shoot it and look after it properly. When I have some spare cash that I'm not spending on health.
I slept soundly and awoke late this morning, with cats standing guard all around the bedroom. Hungry cats who had been expecting breakfast 2 hours earlier.

*taking notes* Well, 40 of us have shown up so far. Hypatia, I missed your offer to scribe from the very first LED, what with the noise of people arriving. Would you be willing to take on 1500 to 2000?
Scribes so far:
Lil 1-500
Irv 501-1000
Tod 1001-1500
Hypatia 1501-2000
After that, we'll see whether we need extra hands, since the conversations do seem to be accelerating lately. Which is a good thing. I think.
Saturday let's have cocktails on the terrace while GDZ is getting married. Potluck hors d'ouevres.
