Well, that video was interesting. Mostly however I'm not surprised that someone would make that assumption, more that a supposedly intelligent media professional would make such a statement on camera.

There's three female dominated departments in our engineering firm, HR, Documentation and Finance. If I was presented with a room full of women in a business context and asked to guess the department, I'd probably bet on Finance. Not secretarial though, what sort of company's got a secretarial department these days - aren't clericals dispersed through the building, attached to individual teams?

Well, I am off to have breakfast with GDZ. I'll post when I get home after the reception.

This matter of Chekov's accent had intrigued me, so I investigated further. Turns out Koenig's of Russian descent too, and was asked to ham up his accent for the show. So your new boy's actually a Russian doing an impression of a Russian who's been asked to ham up his accent. Which sort of explains why it's ended up sounding bugger all like Russian.
