Just been looking at the plans for the redesign of H2G2 . Well I guess nothing is permanent , especially when it come to the internet and technology in general . We will just have to see how it turns out . The BBC usually make a good job of things . Lets hope they make a good job of this .

300+ posts in the backlog. Eeep! Oh, and blue fuzzy trousers: how.... cosy!
You know those slingshot maneuvers when they fly a space-ship around the sun so it can gain accelleration, and then shoot it out in the opposite direction? Well I went up to Embro for three days last week and stopped over in Blackpool in lieu of coming home. I then rumbled down to Chester for the day before hurling myself down to Birmingham for the night and then bouncing between Bristol and Birmingham and Bristol again over the weekend.
It was all made more complicated by losing my keys and going to three different Sainsbury's in a quest for clean knickers.
Which reminds me, who would have thought that the following text could be in any way ambiguous:
"keys are ready whenever you want them use main bedroom sorry about mess"
What with all the drama with the keys, I assumed it meant a neighbour who knew I'd lost them had broken in to the back bedroom and changed the locks, which I thought was rather opportunistic and presumptive of them. It was only after I'd replied (very grateful, and not showing my annoyance at all) that I realised it was from the friends I was staying with over the weekend.
It's good to be home, but there's no sign of Tiger . He's probably sacked me.
>> I'm surprised they go for the whole of Britain, after all, England, Scotland and Wales would have to agree on something first.
Foreign policy is decided in Westminster by representatives from all over the UK. The Scottish Parliament and the Welsh National Assembley have strictly local powers.
>> I always feel it's a little like the tea party in Alice in Wonderland,
Indeed it does, in so many ways! For our splendid fauna, if for no other reason.
Milla, how lovely to see you here.
>> I'll never forget a few years back when the Car Talk boys took a call from someone who claimed that his vehicle was liable to sudden stops but had great acceleration. He was at that moment many hundred miles over Hawaii
How is that!
>> 'I don't think this tissue is big enough for my snot!'
Heh! Heh! Heh! - a quote for our times, methinks.
>> I also once burned my foot while frying an egg
*blinks* *giggles* *blinks again*
>> what sort of company's got a secretarial department these days
Quite - forget the sexism - this guy is supposed to be reporting on business? I actually wondered if it was a set up - there seem to be several cameras going at once.

Tired, Gandalfstwin, thank you.
Someone in the hotel handed in my keys, and Z got spares cut, so I didn't spend Friday breaking and entering, but driving down motorways instead.
I'm getting too old for this game.
G'Night all.

I doubt you're the last one here, Ben. And if you are, you'll wear the hairy blues for the duration of the next thread. Right now I'm certain you couldn't pay egon to part with them.

Well, I've read about the redesign and what ~I~ think is, somebody lost the original artwork for the goo page. And this happened in the first year of the site's existence. ffMike spotted it when a few minor button changes were made.
So it's finally going to happen: we're all about to be skinned in orchid.

The default skin when I arrived was already Alabaster, even though I arrived about 14 months in. I like Brunel and always have.
The more corporate the better for me at work: what I would like, would be an option to kill smileys in conversations, so I could look as if I was reading a newspaper.
I might suggest that, actually.

And if the freakin' conversation search worked, we could actually find that adventure thread and see our accurate we were.

I'd give a lot for a descent search option. It seems that the entries aren't in google any more.
If the entries aren't searched by google, what does that say about them? I was listening to the "how stuff works" podcast today, and realised that we are not an information site at all - we are a vanity press.
Anyway, I MUST go to bed.
Night all.

GDZ Put the damn laptop away! If you are using your phone, turn it off.
Speaking of GDZ and throwing things... GDZ threw me under the bus. At his reception, the throwing of the bouquet and the fling of the garter belt ended with that rat ******* shoving the offending garment in my pocket, even though he knows my hatred of all things wedding.
