Had pretty much my perfect wedding.
Watched yesterday's Torchwood. Couldn't have thoght of a storyline more calculated to give me the screaming heebie jeebies at the moment. Very good. Am cross I couldn't watch today's. I may be able to catch up before tomorrow night, but then I will miss Thursday's. What are they up to? What happened to eeking out pleasure? Clearly the whole instant gratification generation is taking over the BBC.
I am waiting ready to pounce on Best Friend's child with the Swallow's and Amazon series. She's 4 and a half, and I reckon seven is probably a good age to start as that's Roger's age in the first book.
Best friend got married in Las Vegas. My second favourite wedding ever.

Please, everyone, ignore the horrible apostrophe error. Clearly watching people stumble through explanations of two types of reproted speach and four catagories of phrasal verbs tonight has scrambled my brain.
And fingers crossed for Marv.

Aargh.
Can't get into Facebook. Access seems to have been curtailed.
Apologies to anyone who's playing me at scrabble.
My wedding was so long ago I can barely remember much about the occasion except it was Aberdeen and it was January and I enjoyed it, albeit in an oddly detached fashion, like being in the eye of a storm.
No disasters - and only one mild tantrum during the planning when the catering manager thought it would be good to have unlimited wine with the meal - and I knew my financial limits.
The lease on the apartment expires today so the last three nights in BJ will be at an hotel.
It's back to Blighty on Saturday for a quick turnaround before driving to Scotland on Monday, offloading a microwave with our daughter in Edinburgh on our way north. Then - one night with Ma and an early plane to the far north.
I am greatly looking forward to clean, fresh air and being able to walk a hundred yards without breaking sweat or being mowed down by a taxi.

If it had been left up to us, we would have gotten married quietly, with a few friends. Sigh... Mom and Pop wanted a real wedding, with a church, cake, flowers, etc. I didn't have to wear white - yay! I wore a black and green leather bodice with a green dress, and a bouquet of red roses. And my hair is ENORMOUS.
So really, the wedding is for the parents. The marriage is for me. That's how I've always looked at it.
Hypatia, you have my sympathies. I think even the people at Goodwill get tired of my old moldy books and toys. Last time we had a pick-up, they only took half the stuff. I left the rest on the curb.
> A friend of mine bought The D and I tickets to see 'Spamalot' for my birthday. YEAH!!!
MR, I thoroughly enjoyed the production at Bass Hall in Fort Worth. It's Eric Idle all over, full of underdressed women in bizarre costumes. And I really liked the way they handled the scene with the Black Knight.

Oh, yeah - and the newest Reacher novel is called 'Gone Tomorrow.' Like all his novels, it starts out with an earthquake and works its way up to a climax.

I have to admit that a real wedding wouldn't be an all bad thing. Though I'm totally happy with what we're having I would also enjoy a big party with lots of people we know there.

If it's not a real wedding, then what the is it? It's real money we're spending and real housework I am taking a break from right now. (Fortunately my mother brought us all up with disgustingly low standards, so it's just a matter of clearing the corpses away and the worst of the non-sentient debris for my brother and not - you know - cleaning. Even so I did feel that there were certain items best removed from the bedroom if he's taking the main bed to sleep off his jetlag. Though I suppose the erotica might help him get to sleep.)
I think several full-on eff-off parties, myself. One in Manchester for assorted friends and wierdos - we could mix your immediate family with the Northern Company of Salonistas quite neatly. There must be a park or a pub we could descend on with picnics. Another one for your colleagues and mine - the people who don't know what we do in the street to frighten the horses. And then another one down South for your extended family my sister and the Southern Chapter of the Internet.
What do you think? Just so long as they happen without any intervention on my part whatsoever!
It's too early for a rum and coke, isn't it? I was wired on redbull yesterday and people Noticed. Not good.

Mornin All
Sunny spells, all our rain is heading to Denmark, no, no really, your welcome.
We had our reception in a Viking Longhouse, friends catered, another friend made all the wine, another one did the disco, no problems excpet one of the bridesmaids was on crutches.

We split up the wedding and a party; the ceilidh happened after we came back from honeymoon. That way we got to have a 'small' wedding (55) and then have a much larger party, on the opposite side of the country, for Mr Vip's huge family.
I vote yes for celebrations.
I also vote no for rum and coke. Unless one is stressed and sleep-deprived, that is.

Z - you *are* having a real wedding, just not a big one.
I loved my wedding day, had a fab time, and the only thing I'd do differently is not invite the cousins and their huge brood of children who then didn't turn up anyhow - we could have had 15 more of our friends.
We have a new router and our internet access is positively zippy now
I know we aren't supposed to be talking about the weather, but this week was meant to be our 'staycation' and after the glorious weather of the past few weeks, this week is rainy, cold and grey. J went to work monday and yesterday. He is at home today but it is still horrible out, I should have pre-warned everyone that it would be pants this week. Might go round windsor castle as at least that is indoors.
When do you hear about the job Marv?
I read the first of those Reacher books recently, was *really* put off by the note on the cover that "women wanted him, men wanted to be him" and that it seemed like one long cliche. Did things improve as the series went on?
Am reading Mr Toppit, and odd book about the family of a childrens book author. Enjoying it so far (even if it is reccommended by Richard and Judy).

I vote hell yes for the rum and coke, but only if the time is appropriate for you.
Okay, so Spamalot cracked me up. But the big thing was that i MET Eric Idle. He was standing there before the show, people just walking past him and I turned around and THERE he was. I went fangirl. I was nervous and tongue tied and felt all hot and sweaty and completely forgot to get a picture or have him sign anything.
I've met famous people before, mind you. And NO ONE has ever made get all flustered like that before. I truly am a geek.

Good about your broadband, Kelli. Mine has been much more solid since I changed the router.
It's 8:11 am on a working day, MR. Not a good time or place for Rum and Coke.
Still, only the kitchen to go and I can listen to podcasts in here.
Any thoughts on Google's announcement of Chrome as an operating system? I admit I am tempted.
