Marv, the boost to your confidence from your colleagues is worth its weight in gold. As you say, remold your position in the company based on the knowledge that you are very good at your job.
Ben, British Blues are one of my favourite breeds of s, I haven't come across many, but the ones I have have all been as bright as buttons.

I don't know much about cats but Trish tells me that Siemese tend to be nurotic, the white fluffy ones allouf, and calicos over bering. The grey stripped oes (I don't know what they are called) have, in her experience, been the most social and friendly breed.

sDiver, now I recognise you by the spelling.
Off to the post office. This will be my last work there until this foot problem clears up; the one thing you really shouldn't do is stand for hours.
See you all later! *heads down the stairs*

One would really think that someone trying to be a writer would learn to spell...
oh well, that is whay god created spellcheck
(maby I should write my post in word so I could spellcheck them and then copy it over... nah)
Hope your foot feels better soon Lil, but then again I am allways ready to take any excuse to slack.

[H not] Another gray day. I don't do well with gray and gloom. Hope spring hurries. Plus I have at least 3 days worth of errands and odds and ends to do today.
I still haven't found my diamond. Guess I'll turn it in to the insurance and go buy another one.
Marv!

Marv, you've got my email. Send it to me as a word attachment, and I'll see what I can do. It might be a bit (end of quarter) but I would be glad to help, and I know someone who teaches cv writing to PhDs.

Alas the email address I have for you is at work, and my email access (actually all access) is still dead. But if you would not mind sending mail to my user name attbi.com i would appreciate it.

Ahh it feels good to finish somthing. Not the novel unfortunatly but I sat and banged out a nice little 2000 short story to try to come back to the novel at a bit of a diffrent angle. And too for the closure of completing a writing project before I go back to bouncing back and forth between worrying how I will ever hit 80,000 words and how I can possiably fit my whole story in a mere 80,000 words.
Hypatia you are not the only one getting down from the weather Though the ice is gone it is still wet, cold, and miserable outside. I think it is starting to through my moods slightly out of wack. Oh well it is a good day to get some serious writing down.

First voting on the world book selection closes in 8 hours. sDiver, are you aware of this? I think you came on board, you should pardon the expression, after we started the World Book Selection thread on this page. You missed the nominations, but you're welcome to vote.
Mmmmm, cream cheese pound cake!

I'm glad to hear the news, Marv.
MR, your response was perfectly appropriate. Besides, if he is placing so much importance on your appearance, he is most definitely NOT thinking of you as just one of the guys.

Marv - After giving your CV some polish you may want to put it into PDF format. Not all companies use Word and opening a Word doc in something like WordPerfect can create format errors that will make your CV look terrible. Even offices that don't use Acrobat will usually have Reader available to open files or can download it from the Net. The PDF file will maintain format no matter the hardware platform. As for why you are not getting responses from your mailings... don't quit your job to look for another. There are a lot of people out there with a lot of experience ready to take anything that comes along.

Oh right, resumé advice. I'm far from an expert, but I think you should not have only one resumé. A potential employer is not looking for the best person for a job, at least not at the stage where they are looking at resumés, they are looking for the person with the skills that best match the position. So you should alter your resumé appropriately for each position, to emphasize the skills you have that are best suited - in short, send the best resumé for the job. Plus it is awfully silly to think that anyone can represent themselves effectively on paper, so don't try. Just list the things that make sense in the circumstances.
