Guys, Affy's deal looks like a contest on some interdimentional/hypergalactic/etc. TV Reality Show. "When in the World is Carmen Sandiego... er... Affy". Something like that. I'm staying here for the BBQ, but Adventure Irving is having a shot at this. I think it's open to all challengers...
Marv, is that fish ready yet?

Coniraya Posted May 25, 2003
Well, I've got some chicken thighs, but judging by the size of them, the chickens must have been small turkeys!
I wish the local supermarket still stocked Old Smokey bbq sauce. But I've got this Aussie Bushman sauce that is pretty good too.
Another adventure? Affy kidnapped? We can't be having any of that, I'll just go and oil my H&K submachine gun and look out a clean combat suit, a quick inventory of the pockets, my favourite Estee Lauder lippy, plenty of snacks and PG bags and I can be ready in no time, once the chicken is ready. An Army can't march on an empty stomach as some one or another once said.

I've been checking out my patch and nearly got tripped by a snake. The snake darted out of the patch and Molly darted after the snake and Annie darted after Molly and I ran ofr the house. It was quite a sight. I was able to pick about a quart of berries, so won't have to buy any after all. In another week or so, I should have gallons of the things.
Everything smells wonderful. Hope Affy doesn't make a habit of being kidnapped.

Actually, I'm the one who usually ends up getting kidnapped on these adventure things. I think I've broken the habbit, though. I *hope* I've broken the habbit. Matina, pass a corona, please? And squeeze some lime into it, won't you?

Here is he fish. The marinade is a secret, but Corona is part of it.

*WM dials up Affy's report on her PDA and tries to absorb it all. She also keys a message into the PDA and transmits it.*
Oh, dear. Affy finally makes contact with us and he seems to be in trouble.
*WM fiddles with the wristwatch-like device on her wrist that enables her to be in more than one place at once. Meanwhile, her bot, Sort, enters the grounds and delivers a large package to Marv. It contains a very large london broil for the bbq.*
Oh good, the beef is here.
Do you think that the Prof ought to be informed of Affy's message?

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted May 25, 2003
I think the Prof would most definately be interested. This is starting to look like a real adventure
Thanks for the fish, Marv!
*places fish on warm corn tortillas and adds small amounts of salsa, avacado, and lettuce, in order to create a plate of tacos*

Ah, the music is the next most important thing after the engine and wheels.
Good idea, to fetch in Tonks -- it will be great to see him again. I just love the fact that among all the college-age, up-to-the-bleeding-edge-techno-happy members of this quest are three really sassy ladies of a certain age, who know how to handle any situation with The Look.
These ribs are ready. *slides two onto a plate, adds potato salad, and an OC beer*
Witty, when did you get the bot? Is he CLI-made? You've got that ascot on him, I can't see if there's an orange button.

Backlog for me as well. To recap:
I am windows2k build 3 or some such. I would have liked to have been os x but after reading the description I'm glad that I wasn't.
I love the heat. Love it. I do not love humidity however. Neither does my hair.
I hear that if you throw on a few corn cobs (just the cob, no corn at all on it) on a charcoal grill in place of mesquite or the like that you get a rather pleasant flavor to your food.
