I am back from the long weekend without kids. The backlog... erm... may I skip it?
Er, did you discuss ESC?

*One of Afgncaap5's signature monitors enters. Instead of simply activating a message, it hovers in the room for all to see, flashing the message "SEVERAL EMERGENCY TRANSMISSIONS BEING DOWNLOADED AT THIS TIME! PLEASE STANDBY FOR TOTAL DOWNLOAD! ASSISTANCE REQUESTED!"*
*A tiny little status bar at the bottom of the monitor can be seen*
67% of messages downloaded and sorted into chronological order.

Notes on Blog:
1) I didn't read all of it. I got through three or four LEDs and quit.
2) Sea: "Shaved Ferret" would be a great name for a rock band.
3) I am aparently Debain Linux. Never used it.
*Also arches eyebrow at monitor*

Does anyone know the keystrokes we need to convert Affy's post into a brief summary?

Sorry I disappeared. For some reason my DNS server went south for .uk sites yesterday.
I'l just grill away. Bring your favourite protein and I will grill it up. Matina dear, as it is BBQ time can you please supply me with a Corona instead of my usual ? Grilling is tough work after all, and one must keep up ones reserves of energy!

*Matina and Ampton walk out to the terrace, Matina with a flat tray covered in ribs and raw hamburgers, Ampton with an improbably large crate of various beers, from Corona to Odradek's Obscure Canadian*
*excited* a message from Affy! Amazing! I wonder if he has tried to read the backlog? He would, you know.
*hands out Backlog Excuse coupons to a couple of other salonistas*
I've been looking forward to telling y'all what a great time I had yesterday at the Hubbard Museum down in Ruidoso Downs. It was the opening day of my friend Drew's big exhibition, "Outlaws and Gunmen". Drew's been working on this for 3 months, liaising with some major collectors to amass an extrordinary set of blown up photos. In a number of cases you could walk up to such notables as John Wesley Hardin, Wyatt Earp or Pat Garrett, and look them in the eye. In the glass cabinet section they had a brilliant assemblage of weapons, both real and fake, as used by cowboys in television and the movies. I saw the weapons and holster sets used in such unforgettables as Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Cheyenne, Hopalong Cassidy... and the Outlaw Josey Wales, numerous Billy the Kid movies (Billy had two cases all to himself), John Wayne (one whole case)...
The high point was a talk given by Bob Boze Bell, executive editor of the magazine True West. I laughed so hard I had to blow my nose. At one point he had the whole audience (SRO) of middle-aged adults singing the theme to Wyatt Earp.
The rainy season seemes to have started here. We've had thunderclouds for several days, but we all wish the precip could be more enthusiastic.

*The Status Bar reaches the 100% point, and then shifts to the messages. However, it seems as if every emergency transmission is being played at the same time. Affy is always present, speaking (normally in a hushed voice) but other, somewhat distrubing images are popping in. Five menacing looking people wearing lab coats, a strange looking stone covered with runes and hieroglyphs, some confusing pictures of two people talking to famous chemist Avogadro, and a few shots of a dark, endless void of nothing. The monitor flicks off of this after a few moments, and switches back to text*
Not enough processing power. Transferring messages to F25840?thread=280280 for a more coherent display.

The long weekend in SLC was supposed to be sunny and nice, but it has been cloudy and rainy at times. Glad I was working through most of it yesterday.

Yes you did, Hati, how did that go?
*notes distinct lack of fish on the grill. Brings in fresh caught Arizona trout and some big plump shrimp from the store.*
Hey, Marv, you could probably marinate those fish in Corona before throwing them on. Margarita works well, too, but we'd have to get a whole batch
*Checks monitor*
I hope he's not trying to lure the Masque out again... I'd better go check the link.

Tartaronne, she has something job-related in Estonia. So she paid me a visit and then another day she was at my place with 17 other people and then last but (most definately) not least we had a dinner together.
It's always so great to meet somebody IRL. So far I never had to be disappointed.

That's great! Yes, RL meetups are always fun.
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I've checked out Affy's story, and um... well... *sigh* He's gotten himself involved in about three hostage situations, which is one thing, but unfortunately it involves time travel, and the posting he made is in chronological order in accordance with our timeline, not Affy's relativistic timeline. Since his body bounces back and forth through history, his journal entries don't make any sense, because things that happen to him in our past happen to him later from his point of view, the journal does not record the story in order.
He's in trouble. I *THINK* he sent the transmission because he wants saving. This REALLY puts a damper on the whole barbeque thing.
